I haven't experienced that yet. Did a little research but couldn’t find any info on how to disable.

What’s annoying me is the auto lane assist or whatever. If I try to avoid a pothole and veer to the right or left (over the lines) the car breaks and or forces it’s way over to be inside the line. It’s freaking me out and I hate it. I tried to adjust the settings to standard as opposed to adaptive and it still does it. Anyway to completely shut off?

It sounds like one of your Parktronic (proximity) sensors is bad. See if any of them picked up a stone chip. In any case, Parktronic needs to be scanned to find the bad sensor.

btw, you can't turn it off. You have to fix it.

What year do you have? MB must have disabled this in 2020 models. My lane assist does not work at all in my G, have had it for 3 months now and it has never corrected me whereas it’s a daily occurrence when I drive my Range Rover.

You cannot permanently shut it off. Just press the button for two seconds when you first turn on the vehicle to deactivate. Sometimes I forget, but not for long.

I have a 2019 G63 and we had the same issue on the right front that would go off at stop lights or stop signs about 3 out of 10 times. At first they thought it was a bad sensor but sensor was fine so they re-flashed the software and then it got worse 5 out of 10 times at stops. Took it back to service and they kept if for 2 days and after working on it they found the issue was the right brush guard/bullbar stuck out 5mm furhter when compared to the left. So they adjusted the bull bar by moving it in so to be even with the left side and problem solved. We've been driving it for 2 months after this fix and no more warnings.

There's no way to change the sensitivity that you can do. The dealer has a calibration procedure, which they have to perform when they replace a sensor. I would just take it in. They will find a sensor that either failed, was damaged or is miscalibrated. I had one take a tiny rock chip on a road trip and it drove us crazy. On my model, there is a Parktronic button that will turn it off, but only for that stop. I had to press it at every light until we got home. I know it's very annoying. But the dealer will fix it and it will go back to just helping you park in tight spots.

Button on the far left just above the light switches. Vehicle inside two lines on the button.

Hmmm, I like the bull bars on the 2019-2020s, but apparently:
  • On the G550 it’s mounted higher and you lose the front camera/birds eye view.
  • On the G63 it’s mounted lower, and based on this thread thereby increasing the chance of interfering with the proximity sensors.

turn out there is a bulletin on this. turns out that the glare from the bars reflect and camera senses an object nearby... they are putting this special tape to block glare and part arrives in 4 days. its a known issue on G63

Can you post the part# from your work order? It would be good to know for those that have the problem now or in the future.

i can call dealer. I threw out the work-order but they said they are replacing the entire “module” for the 360 camera for the two front sensors...

Here are the steps followed:
1- they thought the glare from the bull bars was reflecting onto the sensors and causing the beeps so they tried a tape to block glare... no go
2- they tried a software uprade which crashed... no go
3- they finally replaced entire module and now fixed.

its an open campaign and the suggestion is to replace the module... dealers should know this.
