OK
So I live in Michigan and hate performance tires on a truck.
I have ordered custom wheels and new tires but they wont be here for 4 weeks most likely.
Yesterday I discovered this.....
Its a slow leak but its in the sidewall so Belle Tire won't patch it.
I can't decide if I want to keep the wheels to put them back when I sell or just sell the wheels and sell the G with the custom wheels in a few years.
But now I can't decide do I toss a couple cans of fix a flat and ride it out fingers crossed till my new wheels and tires get here or do I bite the bullet and buy 4 new tires???
Since it is still on the tread area, if it were me, I would just use a tire plugging kit from Amazon and fix it myself until the new set comes in. I would decide what to do when it comes time to sell the truck. But then, I do tend to like to push things a bit.

CLK 55 AMG 2005 and CLK 63 AMG cab.2007 - 2009 EVO - 2013 ML63 AMG - 2018 G63 AMG
Suck its on the edge of the side wall. Almost repairable.
Personnally i keep my original wheel when i sell my cars and sell my aftermarket wheel on the side.
Maybe change 2 tires and replace the flat one.
I agree. Just get a plug kit from Autozone or any auto store place and plug it yourself. I do it all the time and to me that close enough where it will plug fine. At least them you'll have time to figure out what your next move is!
In a bind, you could plug it yourself with a plug kit. It is easy to do at home as long as you have an air compressor and the kit. But driving on it 4 for weeks may be pushing it. If it were me, I'd probably forget the plug is in there in a week or two and get on the open road and do a 4 car pass at 100 MPH and then remember, "oh ****, I have a plug in the sidewall.".
Another more viable option depending on your area is to buy a used tire. They sell for as cheap as $30. The next least expensive option is Walmart. They have new super cheap and very low quality tires made by Goodyear with recycled material, but with an unknown/Walmart name. If you need matching tires for 4 weeks, then just buy an identical replacement.
I just plugged a tire this morning with a $12 kit, but the nail was in the contact patch.
Well I am gonna break down and just buy 4 new tires....
Im about 2 or 3 weeks away from my others arriving.
Anyone have a good suggestion on something that isn't the most expensive option yet wont be considered a crap tire when I sell the truck in a couple years?
Do you have a spare tire carrier or big empty round thing on the back of your G? Use your spare until the new wheels come in and leave your old set as is. The next owner might want to change the tires too.
