2018 rain gutters

Is it normal wear?
looks like paint is wearing of the plastic gutters from the rear and 1 side.
Is it under warranty?
I also showed him an area under the passenger side front windshield pillar where water drips down for hours after the car gets wet. It is getting rusty in the pattern that the water drips down. Luckily, it is not an area that people see, unless they are looking for it. Hopefully they will fix that too.

Do you have pictures of the rust area? if it's by the corners of the windshield, it's a well known and common issue with these cars, even more so if you live in a humid and winter salt/deicing agent requirement climate.

I don't have a picture of the rust area. There is a pillar in the front corners of the car that starts at the gutter, and ends behind the back of the hood. After a wash, or if it gets rained on, water continually leaks out of the bottom of the pillar. Luckily, the water leaks from the front part of the pillar, and not the side. It leaks down the crevice behind the back of the hood. There is a straight line of rust forming from the bottom of the pillar, downward, inside that crevice. Luckily, it can only be seen if you are looking inside the crevice.
And it is only on the passenger side. The driver's side pillar does not leak water and does not have any rust.

He said, "We found more rust. In fact, that may even be the problem with the front pillar. It is not getting rusty. Rust filled water is dripping down that area and leaving rust residue on the paint."
So he had me stand on the rear bumper and look down at the top of the tailgate where there is a foot long line of rusted metal on top of the tailgate door.

And
i’ll go check the top of my rear door. Lol who think of checking there.
Replacing the pieces with fresh factory pieces WON'T prevent the problem from re-occurring.
Sure 3-4 yrs ago when this "issue" first started to come up - sure we went the "replace-the-trim-route" - and replacement trim develops the same problem for the same customers.
Frankly - the righteous solution that works - our Mercedes Certified Collision Center with our guys 15+ yrs experience want solutions that work - they pull the trim - sand and the trim with matching trim/bumper paint - and for us that has been the proven "right solution" on our side - and we do that for our customers No Charge.
It isn't a question of "is it under warranty or not" - if you have this "issue" the question is how to fix it so it doesn't happen again - and what works, works.

You guys know how to black out the rubber around the back window? It seems white and faded. Normal?
And just asking if your back door hinge rubber has that little crack in the middle? Seems like water could enter...
Rubber and black plastic trim it's the bomb..
