As per dealer promise, despite COVID-19:
I put a deposit down with a condition of allocation within a year in Jan 2020, dealer just called to tell me that I have a Nov 1st week allocation, delivery for Jan 2021 (depending on Halifax, NS).
I have a few weeks for final build, sucker for black and Xpel Stealth everything because it’s financially cheaper for me.
On the other hand, I was thinking maybe I should choose a wild colour to stand out, but I’m not sure if this will delay delivery.

Congrats! There are more color choices on the G Class than any other model so if you want to be different you have many options. I ordered mine in Desert Silver and there was no delay. If you put in for a color your dealer will be able to tell you if the build date would be affected so if there is one that interests you tell the dealer to see what happens; however, I would not expect a delay for any color. Nothing against Black or White, or even Silver/Gray, but most are those colors so don't be afraid to stand out! I hope someone somewhere orders one in China Blue!

It is a tax for poor fuel economy. The Gas Guzzler tax does not apply to US G Class vehicles since they are classified as trucks, which are exempt. More info here:

still a long wait to get a G in toronto. especially if you are paying straight MSRP with no dealer mark ups or options. most dealers here in toronto dont charge a straight cash mark up like what they ask for in the US. however they ask customers to buy certain dealer installed options - extended warranty, wheel and tire insurance, prepaid maintenance, PPF, tints, etc etc.... they make huge margins on these options.

yup its basically a gas guzzler tax. but the Gs arent exempt like in the US.
the G63s pay a higher green levy than the G550s.
IMPORTANT - please understand on Nov 1st Build YOU HAVE AT MOST 1 WEEK and the factory will LOCK DOWN THAT ORDER.

That's correct. I was thinking the same thing. I'd rather have the heated steering wheel especially in Canada.

A friend got Olive last month with Night pack and it does stand out. Due to Covid, we had lot of cancellations in New Delhi but all were picked quickly. I got a chance to check multiple colours in person for the first time. If you like mat finish, Magno platinum does look nice in person
