Hello-

I recently purchased a 2019 g550 and wanted to get all season / weather mats. I called to dealer and the parts department said that MB doesn't make all season weather mats for the 2019 and later g-series. I just wanted to confirm this is true. Does anyone have OEM all season mats for their 2019- g series?

If this is true, does anyone have any recommendations for mats? Weathertech OK?

Thanks!

I ordered a set of OE mats with my 2019 G, but sold them and bought a full set of Weathertechs. IMO, Weathertechs are much better. The OE mat set did not include a cargo mat, and the 2nd row set comprised 3 pieces versus Weathertech's single piece.

Weathertech all the way. Fit like a glove, and don't slide around. The cargo mat in the very back isn't as large as the one for the previous body style due to the shape of the floor in the new one, but it still covers pretty good.

they’re a $200 option, I ordered them on my 2021 G 63, your dealership doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Weather Tech mats are great, I have no experience with the G.

Tuxmat should have a set ready very soon. A member here had their vehicle scanned and I will be getting one of the first set so if you can wait a little longer I will be posting a review here after I get them. Weathertech mats will start to bend inward over time but these will not. You can check them out on their web site: https://www.tuxmat.ca/

The Weathertech cargo mat edges do tend to curl a bit over time, but the surfaces last forever (no heel holes). I bought a set for my 2008 Lexus GX, and they were still in great shape 11 years later when I sold the car. My only criticism is that dirt seems to penetrate the surface, and scrubbing them clean is difficult. I've been intending to apply some Mop&Glow or some other surface sealer to see if this helps.

Get whatever mats you like best and get a new logo here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/8682816...aid=928b62e5b9

I plan to put the Gelandewagen decal on my Tuxmats when I get them. He can make them in different sizes as well.

My car came with the OEM G class rubber floor mats but I ordered the weathertechs last Friday as the oem’s coverage isn’t that great. Think I might send the weathertechs back and wait for tuxmat.
I called tuxmat and they said 4-6 weeks until they are in stock for the new g class. Interested to see how they compare to weathertech.

where would the decal go on the tuxmat?

Thanks everyone! I will probably PM 'montreal red' for the OEM mats and use those until the tuxmats come out.

I'm still amazed I can't get the OEM mats at a Mercedes parts department. So wild.

Just placed an order for Weathertech liners. Had them on othe cars. They're more expensive, but IMO worth it. They get dirty, you pop them out right away.
plus got them in tan, hopefully matching the leather. Great They're a complete solution, 3rd row and trunk also.

Cheers
Bo

Tuxmat just got the updated set and hopefully, the final test fitting will take place in early Nov. (thanks Chris!) so those of us that have been waiting for these should be able to get them soon.

You can see what they look like here, which is the same look that the ones they are making for the G Class: https://www.tuxmat.com/

Tuxmats look nice. I ordered the all weathers as an OEM option, so will just go with those.

Got the weathertech today. In tan. 1st and 2nd rows snap in perfectly, 3rd row fits properly, although no retainers.Cargo mat fits ok, needs time and cargo to actually lay proper. Has a scuff protection mat, snap on.
Time will tell how the perform, especially in the upcoming ski season.

Cheers,

Bob

2nd row and cargo mats are usually shipped rolled up. If you lay them in the sun with corner weights, the mats generally relax flat in about an hour.
