"Because" there are models from every automobile manufacturer - in queue - think of them as airliners stacked in line at the runway waiting for clearance to take off.
And for our "newer" member - 2021 GLE/GLS were "released" October 12...

Got a VIN and “estimated” invoice from dealer today on my October third decade build. MSRP is listed as same as 2020.
For those interested it’s about $10,000 difference between dealer invoice and MSRP.
Now for the waiting game. Vehicle will eventually make its way to Brunswick. Dealer hoping for early December but obviously can’t say for sure due to multiple variables.

I am considering a g550 or g63 2021; went by dealer and they thought the g550 would clear faster than the g63 as the emissions are harder to pass on the g63 (if that makes any sense).
I will post a "help me decide thread next"

That doesn’t make sense to me and by the time your vehicle is built, they’ll be released. Mine is on the water now.

I hear ya, but I would think the higher performance tune emits more emissions.....made sense when i heard it from him

the G 63 is in much shorter supply than the G 550. He probably doesn’t have an allocation for a G 63.

That's BS, both cars will be cleared by the EPA at the same time. Also, neither car is a new model.

Got this from MBUSA - more nonspecific details about delivery. Though odd how they aren’t tossing it to the fault of the EPA and saying how dealer should know more details. My dealer/salesmen are saying the exact opposite.
Impressed more and more with MB customer service.
Dear Stephen,
Thanks for reaching out to MBUSA and congratulations on the 2021 G63 AMG.
The 2021 G63 as well as the G550 models are anticipated to "launch" end of 4th quarter. Although the cars began production in September, Daimler AG controls the actual launch date based on certifications and releases for the U.S. market.
The dealer will be in the best position to advise once the vehicle is released to market to begin transporting to the dealer.
In the meantime here is a great website for our AMG Academy. As a new AMG owner you will be provided a complimentary seat at the Performance training:
https://amgacademy.com/program/offer
Its a thoroughly enjoying experience.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond. All the best with your new purchase. Stay safe.
Kind Regards,

A squirrel gets a nut every now and then, LoL.
mine is headed to Baltimore and scheduled to dock on the 25th. I’ll take delivery eventually, I have my Lexus SUV to drive until it arrives, I’m trading it in. It’s all good whenever it’s delivered. My G 63 is also listed as priority 1, it’s a sold order.

Got this from my Sales Person on Saturday first thing in the morning. Mine is a 2021 G63 AMG. He didn't say I can have it, but just that it'll be in USA by Thanksgiving god willing.

My G63 was offloaded in Baltimore yesterday, sure wish the EPA would certify the 2021 model!
