G63 detailing
Hey team
i am in Seattle area and wondered if you could recomment a mobile detailing or normal detailing shop to clean my 2020 g63?
also, i have matte paint so unsure who would know how to clean that.

I don't have any suggestions for a mobile detailing company since I'm in Houston, but I bought wash mit, and two bucket system along with with matte paint wash from Chemical guys specifically for the matte on my wife's G. I'd suggest using the same mit ONLY for your matte paint, and wash it out thoroughly after each use. Keeping the grit off the mit and not grinding it into the paint is helpful.

If you want to go to the best, then Metropolitan Detail in Redmond, WA.
Highly recommend them, top quality work. Last time I was there they had a Ferrari Monza that they were doing full ppf.
I have had them ceramic coat my G63 and another car, very high quality work.

I'm in Southern California, so I can't recommend anybody in your area. However, I have matte paint on my 2020 G 63, and I did a lot of pearl clutching about properly maintaining the paint on my truck. I scoured this forum and others for information about matte paint. The biggest take-away is to avoid automated car washes. The other important thing to know is that it's important to use car wash soaps that were made for matte paint. (apparently typical car wash soaps contain wax and you don't want wax on matte paint). Fortunately, Chemical Guys (and others) make special products for matte paint. Lastly, I found (at least in Southern California) that any respectable mobile car or detailing guy is already familiar with matte paint. I read reviews and spoke with half a dozen local mobile car wash guys, and they all were very comfortable taking care of matte paint. I picked one of these companies, and they have been washing my G 63 regularly without any issues at all. I bet that you'll have similar luck in Seattle.

I told the dealer to leave all the wrappings on mine when I picked it up - no wash or anything except for a full tank of 93.

Maybe I should tell them to leave all the wrappings on mine as well. Derek said not to let them touch the paint. The dealership only has 91 octane in their tank, do you think I should have them fill it with 91, or take it to Mobil and fill it with 93 myself?

I have a 2020 Designo Graphite Grey Magno G550 with Black AMG gloss wheels. I had my detailer do a full ceramic coating of both the body and wheels. I then use Chemical Guys car wash for matte finishes, and use a blower to dry off, then a quick wipe with a cloth to remove any final drops of water. Amazing how easy it is to take care of, which was my main concern when i bought the matte finish.

My guy used Dr Beasly's matte paint coating. i am not sure if he used 2 or 3 coats, but whatever he did, its a breeze to take care of. and then i use Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Auto Wash, as my soap to wash car.
