Mercedes Me - Remote Start Question
So, when I use the app to remote start my G, and then go down to the car, it shuts off as soon as I unlock it with the keyfob. Is there any way around this, i.e. so it will stay running?

Interesting. None of my remote start cars before ever did this. It's being unlocked with the key, so you would think it would stay running.

I did, it goes into a "Processing Mode". I've tried it only while the car is in the garage. Wonder if it has to do with Signal not being so clear. Maybe it'll work better outside. Is yours instant?

There is a new Mercedes Me app released today or so. Try to update to the new app but be warned you have to re-login so make sure you know the email address used to authenticate to your app first.

Mercedes Me - Lock & Unlock While Running
Previous to the updated Mercedes Me Connect App, I was able to lock my car from the app while it was running and then unlock it from the app. Since the update, this feature has been taken away. Any ideas? I use this feature all most everyday. I have a 2019 G 63 - also I'm new here to be kind lol.

Let me preface this with it has years since I have owned a Mercedes. Am I understanding correctly that remote start is not available on the key fob? I have to go through Mercedes Me? And this is the case on all MB? The car shutting itself off as you are ready to depart is now the second most ridiculous thing about their remote start.

Is it possible to remote start the vehicle with the key fob as well? Some previous cars allowed to hit the lock button 3 times or some variation from the factory key fob to start a vehicle.

...I suspect it's both a "Safety & Insurance" feature, ...i mean, ...they don't want to be sued each time somebody jumps in the vehicle and, while seating, accidentally hits the "Drive or Reverse" function..., ...if you leave the vehicle ON and jump out and in, it's YOUR responsibility BUT if you do it with a MERCEDES feature..., ...it must be fool-proof...

WHile i agree. BMW has implemented it such that you are able to unlock and it stays running but upon entering the vehicle in order to drive it you must put your foot on the brake and have the key with you to press the stop and start button once more to read the security of the key. However in this scenario the engine never shuts down and require it to be restarted. Possibly they will implement it in this way in the future as well but either way a remote start period is a great thing to have especially in the colder climates.

...you're right but, you know, we live in a world where on a a Superman dress it's clearly stated that it won't enable the human flight..., ...you know...
