Fire Extinguisher location

I know MB removes the FE for all US sold vehicles but I’m curious where is the factory location for it

Probably at the nearest MB dealership - that's where the owners manual directs you for all problems that an owner encounters (lol).

I disagree. my experience with the dealership is if its not North American spec, dont ask about it.

I already have a Gloria FE. Just wanted to mount one on this car

What I'm implying is that if you find yourself needing a fire extinguisher, drive to your MB dealer and use the one hanging on the wall in its service department.

Below the Driver's Seat - kindof funky - fits 1211 extinguishers

Hi. I'm curious if your Gloria FE is a dry chemical or clean agent? I've heard people say that dry chemical puts fires out, but also makes a huge mess. I decided to put a clean agent fire extinguisher in my Ferrari.

dry chemical is a white powdery substance that makes a mess - especially if you dispense it the cabin. Halon and CO2 on the other while clean needs to be almost at point blank range to be effective. the one I have is the dry chemical version by Gloria

It's just a "bragging rights" item.... you would be hard pressed to put out a waste paper basket fire with a 1211 size cabin extinguisher... if you need it you get a custom installed "engine compartment" fire suppression system

A consistent double-digit return on your investment portfolio is bragging rights. Retrofitting an FE into a 5yo G wagon isn't

I have the FE in my possession and this car that I just got less than a month ago. How hard is it to get an answer

They are attached to the front of the seat frame, mounted horizontally between the floor and bottom seat cushion.

Got a diagram by chance? The bottom cushion has a compartment and would look incredibly low if its between the floor and the compartment.

If space and mounting are a problem, have you looked into more compact solutions like the First Alert Tundra? It's a 14 oz. aerosol can rated for A, B, C, and K fires. My MY2019 G has 2 elastic straps located under the driver's side rear seat. These straps are large enough to capture a 2" diameter aerosol can, but not an FE that's 3" to 3-1/2" in diameter. However, there is sufficient room to stow a 3-1/2" diameter FE if you add a mounting clamp or strap. Maybe this is the Euro location for a FE(?).

No, I don’t have a diagram, I only know what it looks like, I see it every time I get into my car when I’m in Germany. They look just like this pic below I found online. Haven’t checked it out in a G, but it’s the same in the GLE 580 and GT 63. I can shoot you a close

-up photo from a G when I’m back there after the holidays.

I guess it has to be within arm's reach because everyone in Europe sems to be a chain smoker.
