This place is a joke.
Typical corrosion on the hub. You'll have to knock it loose. Be extremely careful if it's up on a jack. If you're at home spray some penetrating oil where the wheel meets the hub. You should have free roadside assistance from MB if it's a 2018, if you are in the U.S. (?)

No those 5 small holes are for the wheel alignment head to fit into when being serviced.

does it being stuck have anything to do with the fact that I just had my wheels aligned and rotated this morning

Maybe it means the shop forgot to do the rotation (lol). I had this happen on my Lexus about a year ago. Had to sit on the ground and kick the tire on opposite sides a dozen times before it finally popped. Be sure to put a couple of lug bolts back in loosely so the wheel doesn't end up in your lap. There are anti seize compounds you can apply to the wheel surface to prevent this but I don't know if they're effective. I've read that the problem is not corrosion but rather some amount of molecular bonding between the dissimilar metals of the alloy wheel and the steel hub.

I come across this all the time, I just sit down and give the tyre a good boot with my heal at the top, 9 times out of 10 it comes off first kick.
Good luck

My Mercedes tech told me the same - although he mentioned "galvanic corrosion" it's some kind of dissimilar metal bonding or welding.. So apparently it's good practice to put some anti-corrosion element (spray, paste, film, tape) between the hub and wheel before mounting.

It happened on my S550 and thought something really bad happened to caused the prevention of the wheel not coming off.

Depending on the severity of “bonding”, kicking it hard will not work. I did precisely that and it would not work until a rubber mallet was used to separate the wheel from the hub.

Went to America’s Tire to replaced the tire the next day and found out they use a very LARGE mallet precisely for this purpose.
The technician mentioned European cars and American trucks tend to have this metal bonding issue.

Add a big rubber mallet to your car’s tool kit 😁.
