Just recently started. First check engine light, ECO mode stopped working and the engine is idling a little erratically (possibly misfiring 1 or 2 cylinders) and in drive its got a shudder/shake to it.
Obviously i need to have an obd scan it.
But before that, anyone else have any similar issues?
Exact same problem but on MY 2018 G63. But mine only occurred in the morning on first start when everything was cold. Once engine was warm symptoms were gone. Solution: Dealer did a software update and all is good. Hope this helps.

I was trying to avoid going to the stealership, but if it comes to it, i may have to.

I assume they change the spark plugs for a B service?

I happen to have the same exact issue that just started. I also have a new to me 2015 G63 with 35k on the clock. Usually engine is cold but settled at idle. Transmission upshifts to higher gears at low speeds and then hard shuddering that sounds like misfiring. Sometimes I can shut it down and restart and it resolves. Eventually the issue goes away on longer drives. Thanks for the hints that it may be coils. Have it scheduled at a MB tech, not stealership. Am I damaging the engine by driving it in the mean-time?

Yeah does sound similar.
Except shutting it down didnt help for me. The coil was just completely out of commission. Almost like it arced.
Had a bosch coil fitted instead of oem.
I did drive it like that to the shop 10 minutes away.
Whether its harming or not, it did feel like it was labouring the transmission a bit.
Short drives though should be ok but not continual.
My fault code showed issue with ignition coil and spark plug on #6. Changed both out myself and all good now. Thanks to this forum I knew where to order parts and how to fix myself and saved a ton of $$

Might I ask what OBD code reader you have? I want to acquire a new one (have been looking for a year now). They're all made in China, they all look as if they come from the same factory, each brand is littered with dozens of models and prices, all claim to be best, and all get complaints in reviews. I bought a Foxwell NT530 a couple months ago and sent it back the same day when it was unable to connect and download an update. I don't need to reprogram ECUs -- just read MB codes.

My Mechanic friend used this Launch scanner to help me diagnose which cylinder I had the issue. I need to buy a scanner myself and found this one on FCP Euro, the same place I bought the replacement Bosch Ignition Coils and plugs. There are lots of scanner options above and below that price point.
