There was a recall for 2013-2016 G550s & G63s affecting “The steering coupling“… you can run your vin or call you dealer to see if your vehicle was one of the affected ones and if it was ever fixed. Not sure if this has anything to do with the vibration you are experiencing . Here’s the link

What is the average temperature in your area when this happens?

Based on your description, I would venture to guess it’s flat spotting on your tires from sitting overnight. This is exasperated by cold weather (typical in mornings as you mentioned it more often happens). Once you drive to get them up to temp, they are back to being round.

Happens to mine, and I can’t think of any suspension or driveline cause that would go away when warm.

What tires do you have on it?

my 2018 G550 did this too and I took it to a local specialist store that does custom alignments and wheel balances per recommendation of another forum member to get the tires trued (shaved to be perfectly round) and road force balanced. The shop did not think truing was needed but re did road force balance and the shake was gone on the almost 100 mile drive back.

might want to have another store re do the road force balance. I took it to a dealer twice who claimed everything was normal and rebalanced the tires with their road force balancer. What a waste of time and $200!

I assume your truck did not used to do this right? Some road feel is normal given the Wide tires.

Every time I get new set of tires, I have the same problem .
The fix always had been road force balancing, but, sometimes, it took more than one visit to tire shop.

The G-Wagen wobble of death at 60MPH has been documented by hundreds ad nauseam. Tire balance, tires, tire balance, and tires. And then there is tires and tire balance.

Wobble of death...this.

Mine usually goes away after the tires warm up or I speed up to about 65/70 mph. It's just a quirk unique to G's.

Yeah, this is "normal" for G's, it seems. Search for wobble of death as mentioned above and you will have enough to read.

I have the same problem, completely randomly. Various speeds, sometimes for a minute, sometimes for 10 minutes. Sometimes at 70 km/h, sometimes only over 110 km/h. Must be the tires, depending on wear, how long the car has been sitting still, ambient temperature etc.

I think the G and potentially other trucks with solid front axle might just be more sensitive to slightly out of balance tires than other cars hence in my case a proper (multiple visit to different shop ) road force balance curesthe problem for a while and as the tires wear the shake comes back.
