Love how the truck sits now. Really like the lights out front, that's on my list. Silver is also a good color for this car.
I park in a garage at home and work with a 7" clearance as well as airports and I barely make it. It's real close. I couldn't do a roof rack or roof lights for that reason, the G is a tall vehicle...
That's what stopped me from more than a 40mm lift and 34" tires...I'd be hitting the garage door cutout.
I ended spending the last few months on the jeep getting a new ARB front bumper / ARB rear tire carrier / rock sliders wheels and tires. Finishing with a paint job and then ill focus on my G, which im pretty sure now on the gobi rack, afn front and rears, underarmor, 3in lift, kings, etc...
We had a pile of mulch delivered to the shop - so had to test the flex of the current lift and 36's ... we'd checked it with our forklift but this was more realistic... decent clearance but I can see some grinding and perhapsa 1-15mm spring spacer needed for the incoming 37's....
This also was a good reminder I need to get at the surface rust under the G..... and suggestions of other options to Fluid film once I brush and treat the rust ?
b.) B’laster surface shield or Lucas Red n’ Tacky. It kept existing rust from spreading any further during the 1.5 years I was unable to get the truck in a local shop to fix it (due to Covid). Both provide a thick, sticky layer that drives out moisture and both are formulated with chemicals to further inhibit corrosion. Lucas is the better product in my opinion because of just how difficult it is to remove (a direct application of degreaser plus mechanical abrasion still left a thin film on a test spot) but B’laster is extremely long lasting too - my chassis is still coated in a uniformly thin film after nearly two years. The only problem with Lucas is that the aerosol can version doesn’t do a great job of aerosolizing the grease well while B’laster can does (probably because of how much thicker the Lucas grease is). If you use Lucas, get an air gun with enough pressure to apply such a thick product.
c.) a local guy is selling a pristine set of G55 18” wheels along with low mile P-Zero scorpion tires. I’m thinking about buying them, selling the tires, and selling the tires and wheels presently on my G in favor of 285 75R18 ridge grapplers (up from the 70 series ridge grapplers presently on the G). That would being tire height from 33.7 to 34.8. I’ve been on some trails and tested full compression and lock and I’ve never rubbed. At present there is about 2.5 inches from the tire to the top of the fender flares. Would I be safe going up in size (or maybe even 295 75R18?) or would that be pushing it, in your opinion? Keep in mind that I only have a 40mm lift.
haha - the C was a blast, sadly sold it to get a dog hauler...... the C was lightly hit in the rear when I first picked it up, and I decided to widebody it and tub the rear when we got into the motor....we ended up settling on 345's and an LSD to get it to hook up.
Agreed - but with the wider track the rig handles fairly well.... I'd like to do that if I could figure out a way to do a release pin and limiting straps like I installed on my 80 Series Landcruiser front swaybar..

Should be fairly easy to do? Bottom of the ORC end link mounts to the swaybar with a through bolt. We should be able to simply replace that through bolt and nut with a quick release pin.

Yes, much improved. I have my eyes on a rear swaybar now.
Great to hear on it handling better finally..... just as a note I have found with our 63 and 55 that widening track with either wheel spacers/ lower offset rim or wider tires ( or both) truly change the handling - but that's also not for everyone.... my only worry with the thicker bar is that travel will suffer - it's fairly limited as it... although with Lockers is might be moot point 95% of the time !
