One LED side marker light flickering but others don’t?

My front right LED side marker light on my 2002 G500 occasionally flickers after being on for about 5-10 minutes. The error on the dash comes up when it happens. The weird thing is that none of the other LED side marker lights do that. The ones installed (not by me) didn’t come with resistors and are just “plug and play”. I’d think that would be the culprit but none of the other lights have resistors and don’t flicker and throw error codes except the front right. Does anyone know what could cause this? Corrosion between the connectors? I unplugged and replugged the connectors and didn’t notice anything too bad.

There may be something built into the other LED lights.

If they're flickering that means they're not drawing enough current to make the computer happy. You'll have to add a load resistor in there. I found with LED bulbs vs the typical halogen bulb draw, usually a 12ohm load resistor works well. 50 or 100W capacity is best for heat dissipation.

They’re all the same so that’d be strange if only one is “misbehaving”. There are some aftermarket ones with load resistors built-in so maybe I need to swap to those. It just doesn’t make sense to me that only one of them is flickering when I’ve had no problems with the others.

Been wanting to go back to OEM side marker lights and bulbs but can’t find them anywhere and they’re on backorder on Mercedes.

I know it's probably a long shot, but you can ask on here and over on ClubGWagen if anyone has their originals as a lot of people upgrade to the LED versions and probably store their OE ones on the shelf.

Yeah I’ve asked over on BenzWorld and ClubGWagen but haven’t heard anything yet. I feel like the only one that wants to go back to stock lol.

Awesome! And yep, 2 amber and 2 red. They’re the OEM ones with the socket for the halogen bulb and wiring? I don’t need bulbs but if you have them I’ll take them. Feel free to send me a PM!

No, I’m looking for the factory/OEM side marker lights with the wiring harnesses for the bulbs.

But yes, the side marker lights that I currently have on my G500 are aftermarket LED units.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having the exact same issue.

No I didn’t. I went back to the factory side marker lights. Not so much OEM, but the VW Rabbit from the 90s, as well as the VW Vanagon, use the same type of side marker lights, minus the correct wiring. I had to splice together the connector from the LED side marker lights to the OEM ones. They work perfectly now with no errors.

I think I am going to go back to original too but have no luck finding them. Do you remember the exact ones you purchased? Is it the same style as original or slightly different?

Basically exactly the same except for the wiring. Part numbers should be:

321 945 139 for the wiring and bulb housing
321 945 361 A for the red side marker
321 945 051 A for the amber side marker
