Heat Exchanger

Searched a lot but couldn't find any G55s with heat exchanger upgrades. I looked behind the grill of my G55, and there is just no space. Behind the bumper is the oil cooler already as well.

I saw MSC has one, but I dont know how it would fit behind the grill, when the current stock one is already rubbing up against the grill.

Just curious if anyone here has changed it, and where did you place it, and by which company.

Thanks.

I saw VRP has one that apparently fits behind the grill. It's used across their other M113k models as well (the small one used in front of radiators, not the larger secondary heat exchangers). Modern Masters Auto in WV was supposed to be running one on their Whipple supercharged G55 but there haven't been any updates on it in a long time.

No affiliation and haven't used it, but know it is an option. Their sample images shows installation on a G.

They also list their 'stage 3' cooling kit as compatible with the G (primary and secondary heat exchangers, with all associated pumps and reservoirs), but you may want to inquire further if this is a route you're looking into.

I actually clicked on the link for the stage 3, but when you choose an option, the G55 isn't there actually. I think, normally, on the e55, it goes behind the bumper, but there's an oil cooler behind our bumper already, so nowhere to put the V2 HE. I emailed VRP, and all they had to say was "For the Secondary HE you would need to add a bar across the front to mount it to." I looked behind the grill, and the hydraulic cooling tube already touches the grill. I assume behind that is the OE HE?
I assume you need to remove the oem HE, and hydraulic cooling tube to fit the secondary HE from VRP.

Also found one from MSC. W463 M113K Heat Exchanger – MSC Shop (runmsc.com)

Seems like it's specifically for the W463 G55 as well. Anyone have experience with MSC?

Hello everyone, any updates on this topic? I actually purchased the heat exchanger and am currently racking my brain trying to figure out how to install it.
As you guys already know, it's so packed that a clean installation seems close to impossible. I tried emailing VRP but haven't received a reply for 3 days.
However, Modern Masters asked me to email them after I left a comment on their G55 posting on Instagram.

I've tried contacting VRP also since I purchased their secondary HE, but all they tell you is "it fits". My tuner/detailer also tried contacting them on seeing how it would fit, but never got back to them. We had to fabricate our own mounting brackets, and figure out the hose situation. We, meaning my tuner. I just dropped it off with him, and he said he figured it out. I should be getting the truck back within a week and I'll take some pictures to see how it fit.

Same here, no reply from VRP and I even tried contacting modern masters, same ending with radio silent.

I took the same route as you. self fabricate a new power steering radiator and pipings. Also removing the old OEM secondary HE.

I am trying to upload pics from
my phone but failed, will do it tonight. Or you can join the G discord server. I posted pictures there

Not sure which headlights I got, its a Taiwan knockoff of the W464 made for the w463 models. So just plug and play.

Just got my car back. HE looks exactly positioned the same as yours. They pretty much did take out the OE HE, and just replaced it with the VRP HE. Said it was a pretty easy install.
