On our 63 we ran stock springs and Fox's and it transformed ride quality - the main issue I think is the valving on the compression of the OEM. We added 40mm Spring spacers for a light lift - and widened the stance a bit with a lower offset rim and wider tire ( they'll take up to a 325 width)

I'm running Koni Raids on the g55 and am very impressed so far with about 20k on them and with a fair bit of extra weight and heavier rims/ tires..... if you don't Need/want the adjsutability of the Fox's or Kings then they're a great choice - I have mine set in "med" position.

Changing the shocks can make a substantial improvement. King shocks with the stock G63 springs is an improvement over the stock bilstein shocks. If you go for softer springs, you will notice more body roll and worse cornering. Depends on how much softer you want the ride to be.

Agreed - and for the 63 I'd stay with OEM or the JWO springs.... I rode in a 63 with Fox's and Viking springs and it was wayy too tippy even in "firm" shock setting.... widening the track also helps.

I'd like Kings someday....

I would also like to soffen up the ride on my 2014 G63 with 32k miles on it.

Around town on So Ca crap roads there are just to many harsh hits that jar you to hard. On a nice smooth windy road its ready nice, but I just dont get to drive those much.

Most of what I have seen says to just replace the AMG shocks to get rid of the harsh ride. But when talking with Jack at JackWagon he said the springs are the issue and to replace them with springs that would get the same ride height as factory and Im not looking to do a lift.

What do you guys think ? Who has changed thier G63 Shocks and or Springs what did you find to be true ?

Thx Karl

I've heard that the G63 and even the G550 rides pretty harsh. Jack wagon springs and new shocks seem like one of the go to's. I'm doing s 2" lift with jack wagon springs/ shocks next week on my 2013 G550. In socal as well. I'll let you know how it drives.
