Front and rear differential oil is not the same as for the (center) transfer case
Hello everyone,
I intend to change de oil in the diffs (front and rear) on an G 350D (2015). No problems with finding the oil.
BUT when I tried to find the oil which is recommended by MB (specs MB 235.11) the real adventure begins.
I am searching for 1 month and I cannot find an oil with this specs other than Mobil Delvac 1 BUT only on 20L canister.
Can somebody please recommend an oil which can be purchased in Germany (or EU contries) which is conform with MB235.11? I just need 3l or so.

It’s very confusing, agreed. I have a G55 and it made it even more so because it shows 75w140 for the diffs in places. That shocked me as that’s the same gear oil as my E46 M3 ran. I put it in but havent touched the transfer case yet because I couldn’t get clarity on it. I feel like 75w90 will be fine.

I was in a Mercedes Benz shop.
I will let this information here maybe it helps someone. For G350CDi 2015 front and back diff oil is 75w90 MB235.31 and central diff (transfer case 75w90 MB235.11 or MB235.21)
front and rear diff is produced by diferent suppliers with MB release but transfer case only MB 20l canister or 200 barrel or the only alternative is 4l Shell 75w90.
I hope it helps. Transfer case does not use hipoid oil GL5 but rather a GL4. I asked if the reason was presence of soft materials in transfer case (bronze or copper) and the answer was DONT USE IT! (In german language)
