I think it's some internal or part code. When I enquired about getting silver/grey ones retrofitted on mine, the parts guy at my dealer quoted Black 9C94, Almond Beige 8U14 or Red 3D53.

makes sense
i do know there is an option code on the g550 for it. Wonder what it is.
I want to get the red ones put into my 2018, I am going to make an appointment at the dealer soon to find out the cost.
anyone know If its possible to swap the seatbelts to red in the 2016-2017 models?
some say yes and some say no, i cant find any OEM parts for it tho, only availible for the new gen. G class 2019 -> when i search for them...
If you have never had Red Seatbelt's - then you figure you want them.
If you have had Red Seatbelts - then you will never order them again.
When New - they look Red/and-nice - after a few month's of use - they look Red/used and that is not a warm/fuzzy look in Red - Black stays Nice Look, Red wears and looks used .
I like the comment - "EZ to change" - not really - there are Explosive Retainers in the side panels - not Difficult for a Dealer - but NOT "Easy"... too much b*ll get's thrown around on the Forum sometimes...

That’s good info because I would have optioned them if allowed and was starting to consider a change but won’t bother now.
Plus I always hesitate changing out safety equipment.

2013-2018
I always loved red seatbelts. It is pretty easy to achieve in 2013-2018 W463. I even did the seatbelt in the roof. Added a video of mine below. Looks pretty cool.
Didn't go the dealer route so i cannot tell you the price from there. But i used a company called SafetyRestore in Massachusetts. Turnaround time is SUPER fast as they guaranteed same day service and ship out on same day they receive the seatbelt. Literally took a week for me since i shipped from Canada. 2-3days to get there, 2-3days to get back to me. So will probably be faster for guys in the US. They have different colours you can choose from. I chose the "BLACK EDGED RED". So my belts are red but black on the edges. LOVE it.
My 2021 G550 is being built as we speak. I noticed online when you build a G550 and add the AMG package the seatbelts automatically turn red. Is this something that is automatic on the build sheet that is assumed?
I Do NOT want the red seatbelts. I also upgraded to the executive package with nappa leather / diamond stitching in black.
on my first build sheet it specified DE3 black seat belt / black stiching (before adding the executive package).
After I added the executive package I noticed the DE3 code for black seat belt / stitching was removed. Does anyone know if I should be expecting red seat belts? Or is this something that needs to be specified and added??

I also ordered the AMG package on my 2019 G550, and spec'd black seat belts. My build sheet did not specify either red or black, and the vehicle arrived with black. The build sheet format seems to constantly change, so it's difficult to say how your vehicle will be configured (but since yours specifically says red it's likely this is how it will be built). Contact your dealer immediately and make him aware of this error, so he can contact the factory. If it arrives with red, at least it's not an impossible or expensive option to change out, and you should insist that your dealer make it right.
I never spec'd Red at all. I just noticed on the builder online when you select AMG on a G550 it automatically changes the seatbelts to red.
Do you think I would need to specifically remove the red seat belts? or when the dealer builds the vehicle they have to specifically add the red seatbelts?

Only the dealer can tell you, and you should contact him without delay if you don't want red.
