Mercedes G63
22 G63 mutlimedia issues

New 22, multimedia system did not show speed limit, nor Nav street details.
Reset unsuccessful
System update at the dealer ended with black screen.
The dealer wants to replace the whole system
Any similar problems?
Anyone knows how yo reset the multimedia system?

Was able to start it but map/ nav not showing real traffic close details. Speed limit not shown too.

Same issue! My dealer had 3 G63’s come in at same time and all had the same issue….they said MB was aware and that an update would correct….patiently waiting!

Interesting since I thought the '22 had the same COMAND system as the 19-21s. Wonder if it has something to do with the added Energizing Comfort program that I think is new for 2022.

Update

MB told the dealer to download the update again, it didn't work. MB opened a case to investigate. Don't know if all 22 G are affected

Thanks for the info! My dealer is saying the same thing regarding MB reviewing…hope we have answers soon!

You may want to manually download the update from the Mercedes me connect website. Sometimes the OTA updates can be glitchy!

Sounds like MB did a chip substitution to keep the production line moving, and the ported software wasn't thoroughly Q/A'd.

There is an update to resolve this problem. My G63 had the same issue. Just picked it up from service. Issue fixed.

Guys - I picked up my '22 on Friday, and I do not seem to be experiencing the navigation issues described above, but CarPlay will not launch in the vehicle. I've tried a combination of different cables and different phones with no luck. After plugging the phone in, the CarPlay disclaimer pops up, but after about a minute the vehicle displays the following message: "CarPlay could not connect". Did anyone experience a similar issue as part of the multimedia issues noted in the initial post? I'm trying to figure out if my car is affected by the same software issue, or if I've got something else going on... Thank you!

I had two issues, navigation maps not rendering and CarPlay erroring out during connection. Update fixed both.
