2023 G63 Aftermarket Exhaust

Hey Everybody!

I know this topic has been discussed a few times on this thread but just wanted a little bit more insight. I am looking into buying the Akrapovic exhaust for the my g63. I have never heard one in person but everybody seems to love it. On some videos, it does not seem to be much different than stock. I know this might just be the mic but wanted to get more insight on somebody who has one or heard one. Is it much louder and is it worth the price? Thank you in advance for the help!

Just drove a g63 that had it. It’s really good.

But I thought it would be even louder

I’m Wondering what is louder/better

Do you think it is worth it? I would say maybe getting link pipes along with the exhaust but that gets pricey

I got this installed and it sounds great with the flaps open all the time. RENNtech EVM | Exhaust Valve Module
463 - G-Class Models | MY19+
Module with 2 Remotes
Hooked up to exhaust flaps

Had the Fabspeed installed for a couple days and it sounded like garbage. $4,200.....you get what you pay for, but all in it was close to $6K with tax and installation. Their support is junk as well, they could have cared less it was designed horribly.

Thanks for sharing. I was considering that one too and now crossed it off the list.

This one is even cheaper, I'm potentially considering it (Vivid Racing): https://www.vividracing.com/-p-154025217.html

Did you swap it out to something else? I know there is a FI exhaust in the Bay Area - not sure if you heard that.

What is yours guys opinion on the Fi exhaust? seems like it is a few grand cheaper and based on videos, maybe even a little louder? I know the build quality is not as good as Akrapovic but in terms of sound/tone/pops

Redstar downpipes + Akrapovic exhaust.

The downpipe combo sounds really nice but really don't want to deal with having to remap the ECU and potentially lose my warranty

No need for ECU tune or check engine light, you just need the high-flow cats.
https://redstarexhaustusa.com/conten...ee-guide-.html

You can go with HJS 130mm or Gesi GEN2 5”.

I always go with the HJS. I didn't put them on my G550 yet, but I had them on my GL63 with zero check engine light.

Oh okay okay will look into that. You mentioned the Fi exhaust earlier in the bay area. Have you heard it in person and what did you think if you have?

Fi Exhaust sounds great. I've done it on a few G's and it will get you a little more rumble than stock. Not sure why someone said their build quality isn't good, because that has not been my experience. I've done them on G Wagons and RSQ8/Urus and they are all very well made. ALL of the exhausts from just about every manufacturer will give about the same amount of sound assuming it is a muffler with flaps type set up. The only way to get it much louder is to do downpipes, and most will require a tune to run without a CEL coming on. Looks like someone posted Redstar high flow cats will not cause CEL, so maybe try those. I have no experience with them. For the price difference betwen Akropovic and Fi I'd say the Fi is the easy winner given they will both give about the same amount of volume.

In new to my G63, but on my E63s Wagon i removed a set of resonators and added and h-pipe and has a nice throaty sound and at WOT is amazing - just enough - $6k for sound is not worth it IMO

I got an akrapovich on my g63 and it’s much louder in person. Sounds much nicer than stock . Worth the premium imo.

How much louder than stock would you say? Seems like in videos its still pretty mild but hard to tell. Just trying to justify spending that premium unless the sound is not there

Exhaust

I can't get my G to ev over 4000 RPM's to get it to crackle with the stock exhaust. Is there a mod you guys know of that'll let it rev higher?

I don’t really remember what the original sounds like now that I’ve had the new one on for a few months but I do remember feeling blown away after it was installed. with flaps closed it sounds almost stock but in sports + , it’s like you’re riding an angry dragon. Videos don’t capture it accurately.

Thanks for all the help, went ahead with the akrapovic and getting it installed tomorrow. If anybody needs the OEM pipes, message me and we can work out a deal. Will let y'all know what I think of the exhaust!

No but mine does the same thing. I haven't heard of any mods but guessing there is one somewhere

Anyone know where I can purchase an Fi exhaust in the NY area?

Do you need installation or just sell you the exhaust? I’m a dealer for Fi and can have it shipped to you, but install you would have to do or arrange on your own.

Just need to purchase; have a tech at a benz dealership who will install. Thanks.
