Seeking help with G63 order

MBWorld Friends- seeking some advice for a G63 order. Placed deposit on a G63 Arabian grey at MSRP at my local dealer in Louisiana in Feb 2022. Dealer called me yesterday 07/28/23 and told me I was still number 16 on the list and to expect another two years! Our dealership isn’t huge here in South Louisiana so I’m sure they don’t get a ton of allocations but this just doesn’t sound right. My friends are telling me I am getting hosed. Not really sure what to do. I’d be willing to pay some over (10-15k) to take delivery sooner but I know In two years I won’t be able to even get a G63 most likely. Not sure what else to do here so any input or advice from the experts in the field would be great. Are there any dealers around that will sell 10-15k over or any that would accept an order and deposit that would get an allocation sooner than 24 months. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer me!

That's insane. I just searched for a color combo I was interested in and purchased CPO. A lot of good deals out there and dropping it seams. Waiting on a new one can take forever. No difference in a 2019 & 2023 except base price.

Your dealer is absolutely bsing you. Id ask for your $1K back and either go used or put it down on a 2024 whose order banks opened about a month back. if your willing to pay a bit over you should be easily able to find a dealer that can get your build by the end of this year or top of 24.

Stay in your state if you can. Most dealers will charge you higher ADMs if from out of state and they can actually lose allocations if selling too many cars out of state. Dealers also want to build a relationship and that is not likely to happen with a customer from out of state.

Most G 63 sales are through the big dealers in large urban areas. If you are using a small dealership they may get no more than a handful of G allocations a year. So it's very possible that you will have to wait quite a while. You may be able to get an allocation in Dallas or Houston but it will cost you way more than $10-15k over.

Head to the dealership(s) and try chatting with the GM. Repeat. Keep reminding them of your interest. Building rapport takes effort - don't just email or call like everyone else. Stand out!
Eventually, the time you've invested could outweigh the extra cash you'd have to shell out to get the car in three months, compared to spending $1K and waiting over two years with nothing but effort to show for it. That said, effort can pay off, especially if you've got the GM on your side - they're the ones keeping track.
