Rear Spare Wheel Cover or cap replacement advice

Yep, stupidly backed into a vehicle just enough to dent the Arabian Grey wheel cover on the 23 AMG G and need to have it repaired. While hoping, again stupidly, that I could simply order the part in my color, this is not possible. Now I have to go through the aggravation of having it painted, waiting, hoping it will be as good as factory. This has me thinking maybe I can find a good carbon fiber replacement. So far none of the replacements are that appealing, note the links below. It seems the letters are too big for my taste, or I think you have to add the "badge" for Mercedes etc? I read somewhere that was the case, and someone said just get it repaired at a good body shop and tape around it. We like our things to be as perfect as possible, so....also the back up sensor seemed to lag, not alerting me in time.

Has anyone her ordered any of the aftermarket covers or knows where we can get one?

This seems cheap for carbon fiber...hmm

maybe try a paintless dent removal place? Large flat surface might not be too hard to straighten out

Good point, might do that. On the edges looks like those might be harder to get out, but like you said, a good paintless dent removal guy might be able to get it.

Those are some great looking vehicles. I'd also try a body shop or PDR place first before going through the trouble of a replacement.

One of my neighbors has a similar dent in his spare tire cover and has yet to fix/replace it months later. Guess it's not as easy a fix as one would think.

That's awesome--yes it was nice to finally get a win this year but it's a great rivalry!

Well...wife is a real car gal and wanted it back original, so I went to the local MB shop and had them take care of it. More expensive than buying a CF replacement, but it's back to OEM. Thanks for the input Forum members....

I'd not go cheap on this. I had this issue and I ended up deleting the spare tire all together. I happen to like the look. I got mine from this company based in RU and the quality is perfect. They can make all their additions without their logo. And they can paint if you give them the paint code. Highly recommended. They have a cover as well as the delete panel.

note: replace the xxx with dot com as forum will not allow the valid link.
