The PCCBs on my 991 have never squealed, nor have any come to think of it. I think a proper break-in is the key unless there is a problem of course. Speaking of pads, I am waiting for Centric to make some Posi-quiets for the newer Gs and if there is enough demand they will make more so be sure to email them with a request: ( https://www.apcautotech.com/automoti...edes-benz/g550 )
And here is the email to make the request: TECH@centricparts.com

My 2020 g63 and my 2014 911 with PCCB’s tend to squeal a bit...My 2015 g63 never squealed. For the 2020 g73 , my MB dealer replaced rotors and pads on my 2020...my SA is world class and just get things done...not sure if MB wants to do this on all G wagons.
I hate hearing the squeal of any car , especially mine. One trick I use is to spray my brakes with water when cold ...let them dry a bit with surface oxidation ...then I drive forwards and backwards @ 30 yds or so with heavy brake and slight amount of throttle to scrub the rotors in both directions ...my neighbors get a chuckle ...lol.
In any case, this tends to eliminate the squeal for some time (usually @ 5-10 days ). It’s a workaround and both cars tend to fight this strategy by cutting throttle when I apply brake at the same time ..but the cars allow me to do it briefly ....PCCBs on my 911 tend to squeal with weather changes ...humidity etc ...
Cheers-

Resurrecting an older thread to see if others are still experiencing squeaky brakes w your 2019+ G63. I took my 2019 G63 to the dealer last October. Dealer couldn't resolve and opened a PTSS Case. Four months later and no progress. I spoke to an "Executive Complaint" person at MB USA who was no help at all. He said MB acknowledges the problem but doesn't deem it as a "malfunction." He also said they will fix it, but have no ETA whatsoever.
My Service Advisor tells me the 2021 bake pads are entirely new part numbers and will resolve the squeaking... but MB isn't releasing them for older Gs yet.
Anybody still experiencing? Any suggestions for escalating further with MB? The rep I spoke with literally said there is no one else within the entire company to help.

I feel your pain. I was told the 21s have new/update parts but maybe not. I just can’t believe Mercedes is OK letting G customers drive around squeaking so badly.

Maybe I listen to my music too loudly but I haven't noticed noisy brakes through almost 1400 miles. My Rover squeaked like crazy so I know how embarrassing it can be.
Still hoping ceramic aftermarket pads will eventually show up.

This is now my #1 complaint with the G63. It's embarrassing to the point of personal insanity. Dealer claimed there was no fix. I'm planning on taking it in and refusing to pick it up until they do something about it when I find a moment as its my daily driver.

I think mbworld.org needs to add a new forum for class action lawsuits.

Brakes are also squeaking here - 2020 G63 with 3K miles (Started squeaking at 1.5K miles, but that was 5 months ago - don't drive much) - has anyone tried bedding the brakes?

I remember my old x5m had given me such headache when it made noise every stops. Bmw never able to make it go away even after 3rd visit to the shop. So I guess I'm somewhat immune to this noisy problem.

Drew, I told the MBUSA "Exec Complaint Manager" the same thing (leave it at the dealership). No reaction. Please keep us posted on your situation. I think MB would rather keep it under wraps - but you know the old expression, "strength in numbers." If enough of us are loud enough (and public about it), maybe a chance something is actually done.

Good question... Im not sure, tbh. It seems pretty equal but I wouldn't swear by it.

Any CEO with half a functioning brain knows that customer problems get managed and resolved by the customer's account manager and tech support staff (in this case, the dealership and service department), or the problem doesn't get resolved at all. Some corporate level executive dweeb and staff of hundreds at HQ are never going to resolve anything except where the company golf tournament will be held and what's on the menu for the holiday party. The only function a corporate customer complaint department serves is to toss problems back and forth with the dealerships so that no one is ever accountable. When the local dealer proves useless your options are (a) learn to live with the problem, (b) take your vehicle to an indy and pay to have it fixed, or (c) drive across the street to the Lexus dealer.

I went and created a short video clip of what a 20min drive through san francisco sounds like. 1.5min of unbearable squealing.
I'm taking it to the dealer on Thursday. I suspect they will fix it this time without much hassle. Hope I get a nice loaner.

As everyone is I'm sure aware, braking systems function by converting kinetic energy (motion) into heat energy through friction. Since half the G63's kinetic energy is instead being converted to acoustic energy, you can expect your brake pads and rotors to last twice as long (lol).

Always the optimist you are, but actually, I have no clue how breaks work. I do know they are generally not supposed to squeal like a stuck pig on a $200k luxury vehicle and it sucks to have a dude in a beat up honda civic look at you with a furrowed brow wondering why your ride sounds like an old garbage truck. Totally unacceptable. Also, I love beat up honda civics. Especially ones with quiet brakes.

I was being glib in my comment about pads and rotors lasting twice as long. However, there is an element of truth regarding the creation of acoustic noise instead of braking efficacy. Squealing isn't an intentional design feature purposed to draw attention to your ride. Something is inappropriately resonating when it shouldn't be. There are several lubrication points for the pads and calipers that can create noise if not properly serviced. Perhaps a specialty brake service shop could take a swing at it.
I'll take it to a brake shop when its out of warranty and my prepaid maintenance period is finished. Until then, this is their problem and they will be fixing it. They pulled some lame excuse that they don't have a fix for this issue last time I brought it in to have the noise addressed. Bottom line, is that if they took this in on a trade they would not be able to sell it with the noise my brakes are making right now. And there is 100% a fix, and its new pads and rotors apparently.
Is anyone reading this thread who's G is NOT squealing?

Heard mine squeak today for the first time, 1600 miles in. Had the windows down so maybe that made it easier to hear. Not going to worry about it, had the same thing with the Rover and the only fix was aftermarket ceramic pads.

Protip. Record a two minute video of your breaks squealing (was actually a compilation of 25 separate 3 second clips) of ear piercing brake squeaking over a simple 20min errand, post it online, drop off at dealer, email them the link, and tell them you're not picking it up until its fixed.
My G63 no longer has the issue after new pads and discs.
Thanks to the forum for egging me on here.

I’ve had the same issue with my GL63 and GTS...mostly occurs with light braking and cold weather. Was also told it is normal. Two AMGs, both squealing....ex-lanation was the brake pads shrink with cold weather and under light braking they vibrate and squeal. Idk, it is extremely embarrassing though, especially in a parking garage.
