21 G63 who’s selling at MSRP?

Mine is a $2500 CAD deposit that is fully refundable with MSRP guaranteed but you need to have extensive history to place an order.
If these American dealers are pulling this stuff with their loyal customers then it's extremely short sighted.... because when this bubble bursts (and it definitely will), those customers will be going elsewhere.

Wow...Do you have history with this dealership? If so they are trash and you should move on. Make sure to post this on their google reviews too.

The dealer I work with usually was out for eye surgery so I started looking at other dealerships . He finally got back to me today and said nothing about a dealer bump up so I put it in for myself today with 1k deposit. He said there’s 8 people ahead of me from previous allocations from last year . I’ll wait I’m just not paying over . And I’ve since contacted 50 Mercedes dealerships in the country and ALL OF THEM are asking 50-150k over MSRP. So unless you know someone which is sad good luck/ and this honestly turns me off and I’ll certainly be looking for my next brand because Mercedes does not care about their customers . General Motors released a statement to their dealers saying if any of the dealers continue to rape their customers they will start only giving allocations to the dealers that are following the rules waiting for Mercedes to come to the rescue and help MBUSA .

Wow, that's a hell of a deposit for something you don't know when it will arrive. At least my dealership has never kept a deposit for goods not rendered.

Who in their right mind would place a $10k non-refundable deposit down when the sale price hasn't been established?? They could get the car in, tell you they want $200k over sticker knowing you'll walk away, pocket your $10k non-refundable deposit, and then turn right back around and sell to the next highest bidder. Unreal.

This has to meet the legal definition of unconscionable and should render the contract unenforceable.
No court would accept that a buyer is obligated to purchase a product at an undetermined price and yet allow that the deposit on the purchase to remain non refundable.

My dealer is doing a G63 for me at MSRP but I bought a G550 from them last year and I’m going to trade it in.
Out of curiosity called 2 other dealerships in my area. One said 3 year wait but MSRP, other said 100k ADM and couldn’t tell me what the wait is unless I was ready to commit to that price.
Seems ludicrous to demand 100k over MSRP for an allocation that could be 2-3 years out. Who knows what the market will command then but statistically unlikely to be 100k over that far into the future.

Buyers seem to have this idea that with production continuing that these cars are going to return to normal but it just won't be the case. Production is going to be extremely limited and even in normal times, a G63 at MSRP wasn't a guarantee.

I understand supply and demand. If I want one now then pay whats it is worth in todays market.
I have it in writing from my dealer advising me that if I was really patient and custom order I can have it at MSRP. After 2 plus years of waiting I'm in position one for their next order but MB announced production had stop but I kept the deposit with them. Now production has starting up again the dealership is trying desperately to give my deposit back, telling me that I will have to pay market price when the car arrives. I refuse and will be seeking legal advice on Monday. Here my build that was submitted over 2 years ago. Any advice would be appreciated.

This must be happening with all orders now? I used to rave about my (former) dealer, who never charged ADM for orders. Ordered my 2020 for list. 2021 order was promised at list. Unfortunately, as soon at my 2021 arrived they informed me that I must cough up $100,000 over sticker or they won’t sell it to me. It was a battle of nasty threats but I won and took delivery at MSRP.

Some people assumed all the dealers that were selling 2021s for 100k over would suddenly stop to sell the new ones at MSRP?
Since allocations on the G are limited anyway, this new business model makes perfect sense from a dealer perspective. Sell 10-20 trucks at a 50-100k ADM each or sell the same 10-20 at MSRP. Imagine you own the dealership, what would you really do? It’s not like they need to find hundreds of buyers a year for the G wagon.
I’ve said it before, if MBUSA actually cared they would ban ADMs, clearly they condone this behavior since it drives up the exclusivity of the brand.
