My dealer said mid april too, and then dealers should have them by end of April early May.

When this happened to 992 turbos late last year, we all got 1-2y of free service. Any indication of a corporate gift/compensation for you guys?

thinking about it though, when the E1s and first batch were held for like 4 months in 2018/19 we got nothing ....

No, if you haven’t scrolled up, check out the memo I posted above. I don’t expect any other updates until mine is loaded for transport.

 

My sales guy called me yesterday and he said they going to release them starting next week but its base on how long the car been sitting at the port, so the cars that arrived mid March or end of March u r not going to see them till mid of May

 

Dealer called and said mine was released to carrier. Should arrive to dealership sometime next week.

This is 100% accurate news. I work for a Mercedes dealership in Texas. I have 4 G 63's at the port in Brunswick and 1 got released to carrier today. I called the transport company who always brings them and they confirmed they are assigned to the 1st G 63 I am needing. This one has been at the VPC since beginning of February. IT WILL FINALLY ARRIVE THIS WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY..... HALLELUJAH :-)

 

 

So what was the mysterious part that was holding all the G’s at the VPC’s? Is my 21 G 63 affected that i took delivery December, 2020?

 

No because I sold quite a few 2021 G 63's before February. My first 2021 G 63 came in literally 1 day before Thanksgiving. I am not sure if any of those are now affected but none of my clients have complained except windshield cracked. I AM TELLING YOU NOW, WHATEVER YOU DO, GET THE WINDSHIELD PROTECTION. THE GLASS CRACKS EASILY...

 

Thanks, do you know what the mysterious part was? I have $100 deductible for windshield replacement with my car insurance. I’ve been careful not to follow tractor trailers or dump trucks.

 

I do not know what part it was. I don't go into detail with all the parts except when my client's G 63 is coming...

See my post #156 above (open the attachment). Can't say for sure this is the cause of this hold, but an issue such as this is all it takes. Someone please comment when they get delivery. 2021's delivered prior to this VPC hold might be receiving recall letters.

 

Thanks, I called MBUSA last week and they said no recalls for my 21 G 63.

 

All of this speculation with zero info from MB, no other recalls on 21’s thus far, and the fact that there is a widespread chip shortage ongoing impeding production throughout the entire industry, has me wondering if this is due to some electronic component that this batch of G’s were shipped without and had to be installed to complete assembly.
