G on Lift at MB service

If you take your 463A in for service and it has to go on the lift, insist they use the “special tool” (lift spacers with some flanges on them) before lifting your vehicle. The dealer lifted mine without the spacers, the frame still has cosmoline on it and is slippery, and it twisted on the lift. No damage other than some scratches on the frame, but some of the service techs may be buying new underwear based on their reactions I witnessed watching from the window over the service bay.

I noticed the first time I was under my G that the undercoat material seems to take forever to cure. Mine is still gummy after 18 months - might be that way forever.

They'll probably tell you they have to put it back on the lift to do the touch-up (lol).

It's actually a repellent coating so it will be like that forever. Which is pretty cool if you think about it.

Repellent as in rodent? I did have a mouse take residence in the air cleaner housing of my Lexus a couple years ago. I'm guessing G's attract rats of discriminating taste like Remy.

repellent from dirt from off roading. I'm not surprised about the rodents. Happened to a few people I know as well as a close friend.

What is it about the eternally soft undercoating that makes it a superior dirt repellent? I would think it might not react especially well to power washing. I had the entire interior of my Wrangler Rhino-coated several years ago - after a day of playing in the dirt, it cleans up easily with 2700 psi.
