Matte carbon interior trim, hopefully this becomes an option for ‘22MY. Love the look of it in the GT

g63-Ophalith White Magno Exclusive
Ophalith White Magno

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum, live in San Diego, and hope to contribute with the knowledge I’ve gained doing some sleuthing on the Exclusive Edition. I ordered a 2021 Ophalith White Magno g63 on April 28, 2021 (the actual MSRP is yet to be determined, most likely $187k-$190k). Delivery expected late June/July. I’ve done some research and here are my findings along with my specific build sheet attached. Obviously the features on the exclusive are predetermined, e.g., the Ophalith White Magno has the Bengal red interior package plus. Here is where it gets interesting, the car comes with a ***partial*** AMG night package Magno. In other words, it does not have the black front and rear bumper and wheel arches. This is very unique here because no other Magno can be configured in such a way; that is because, the only night package available for Magno colors is the AMG night package Magno which comes with the black bumpers and wheel arches. Also notable is the fact that is comes with all exterior elements in matte black, e.g., lettering, emblems, mirror covers, bumper accents, brush guard, 22” Forged wheels. Furthermore, it appears that just like the 2019 Edition 1, the Exclusive Edition may also come with a (1) special steering wheel, (2) unique matte carbon fiber interior trim [recall the peppered red carbon fiber interior trim unique to Edition 1], and (3) foliation/decal of some sort on the exterior and/or interior. Finally, this is the first time a Magno/matte white has been introduced on a g63, and may not be available going forward even for an allocated custom build. Just my 2 cents: If you can get this car for less than $70k above MSRP, it’s a good deal, anything less than $50k and it’s a great deal. I surmise this car will be listed at $100k above MSRP as soon as pictures are released, and continue at that price well into 2022. Btw, the Cardinal Red Magno was apparently renamed to Hyazinth Red Magno.

Cool *Update re Colors on Exclusive

Ophalith White Magno has been renamed Moonlight White Magno; and Hyazinth Red Magno has reverted back to Cardinal Red Magno. If you know, then you know.

Interesting -- forum members are reporting 1 - 2 year waits for their built-to-order G63's and are paying substantial MSRP markups for them. Meanwhile the Graz factory has capacity to squeeze 400 "limited edition" vehicles that nobody has ordered into its build schedule, and dealers are offering these "exclusive" vehicles to buyers-in-wait. Has G63 demand possibly leveled off (or drooped) and this is MB's solution to filling its order book without destroying the G's panache, price and markup? If my built-to-order G63 delivery was still a year away while my dealer was receiving a couple "limited editions" looking for a home, I'd be more than a bit miffed, and I'd think I was being hustled.

Interesting theory, however the opposite may also be true depending on market appetite for the vehicle. Could also be a "focus group" test for a 2022 significant base price bump. I would be interested to know how many have lined up for the limited edition.
Something interesting occurred today when checking in with my dealer. My allocation apparently has been moved up and I now have a build date of July 20 of this year with an expected delivery date sometime in September. When I questioned the dealer as to why or how an 18 month initial delivery date has now changed to a 9 month delivery, he could only speculate. I was also told that since the company store in Manhattan has now begun to add ADM of $25k, many of the remaining stores in the country who have not added ADM will now do so. Again speculation.

Judging from the sentiment expressed on this forum, I doubt MB needs a focus group consensus to bump the G63's base price 5% or so. However, there might be a market research element to this limited edition gambit. The 2021 G63 dealer ordering guide lists the following:

23 standard paint choices
14 Manufaktur paint choices
6 wheel size options
8 standard upholstery choices
23 Manufaktur upholstery choices
7 interior trim choices
3 night package versions
3 interior package versions
plus the trail package and comfort package options.

The number of possible G63 build combinations makes Burger King unimpressive, and the logistics of keeping this many materials available has to be a major cost and coordination headache. Somebody at MB must have finally asked why is it Tesla can design and deliver a new model in less time than it takes Graz to assemble a G63.
Maybe MB is using a limited edition G63 to test the market receptiveness for fewer build options. It seems as if many forum contributors select one of the white or black exterior colors, one of a couple interior colors and always the carbon fiber trim and 22" wheels. MB is probably finding that 80% of its orders are choosing 20% of the choices, and might be experimenting with ways to cut costs and accelerate production. In other words you can have it your way in 2 years, or you can have a "special" G63 build of MB's choosing in 6 months.

Our allocation is full of sold cars. Everyone I talk to is in the same boat. Every time a G 63 appears on our website we get calls from all over the country. 400 cars averages to 1 per dealer. Obviously, most dealers won't see one of these cars.

MBmanhattan had the matte white allocation for 35k over, but I think it’s long gone by now.

I'm guessing the calls you're getting ask (a) since the vehicle on your website is already sold, how long to wait for an allocation, and (b) what's your MSRP markup. I think any serious and reasonable customer has no problem with a 6-8 month wait for a built-to-order G, but even dealers must be screaming at Stuttgart about the absurdity of 2 years.

Awesome pics! I didn’t expect these to start showing up stateside so quickly. I suppose I can hope to take delivery before July. Also, that ADM is insane.

My white Magno is on a vessel slated to be at the port in Long Beach on June 22, 2021. I'll post pictures of the white Magno as soon as I get my hands on some. When are you expecting yours?

I think similar timeline as yours. It might even be sooner because mine will unload on the east coast. Looking forward to some pics! Please do share if you get your hands on them.

I was a little concerned about choosing the Red Magno with the Platinum interior over the White with Bengal red, but after seeing both now, I'm glad I went with red.

Just seems a little more special.

Thanks again for posting real pics of both!!

All Gs are nice but I’m not a fan of the all red or all white interiors and I would have preferred the wheel arches and bumpers and roofs in magno black. Just too much red and white for me!!

Hi Tamim - Is that your White Magno G63? Is there any badging or unique features (other than the paint color) that signifies the limited edition? I haven't seen any releases by Mercedes or any solid info on the edition itself. Any chance you could send a photo of the window sticker, and anything else you may have? It looks amazing! Congrats

No, that is not my G63....yet. See my previous post regarding the specifics on badging and unique features, and the build sheet for the moonlight white magno. Off the top of my head though, I can tell you that there are a lot of unique features to the two Exclusive Editions, but nothing that specifically says "G Manufaktur Exclusive Edition" or even "Exclusive Edition." Thankfully ––– honestly, I like that there is no foliation or decals that have such insignia––it cheapens the car (too many decals on the car, i.e., Benz Star, G63, AMG, Bi-turbo, V8, G Manufaktur, and Exclusive Edition sheesh (might as well drive around with the build sheet laminated on the spare tire cover). In short, the exclusive edition is made for those who know the car well enough to appreciate it. Notably, all of the exterior decals, exterior trim pieces, and badges are in black magno from the factory which makes a significant difference when contrasted against the matte finish on the body. Anyways, these cars have to be seen in person to truly appreciate their luster (especially the moonlight white magno, as it looks like an ordinary polar white in pictures, but in person it has a subtle pearlescent sheen that is a sight to behold .) Anyways, back to practicing law in beautiful San Diego.

The white interior will be a challenge to keep clean.
Shame MB does not provide contrast stitching on the steering wheel. Just saying.

If you go with the white interior, be sure to add the Marie Barone clear plastic upholstery protector option.

I am really hoping that white magno pops in-person. Photos clearly don't do it justice. I'm also glad the red interior is a more low-key red, rather than blingy-in-your-face red. Looks like mine is at the port about to get on a ship, so we're looking at a mid-July delivery.
