After a 30 min drive I parked my one month old G550 in the driveway to unload some groceries. When done I moved the truck into the garage and noticed a decent puddle where the truck was previously parked. So I checked under the vehicle and noticed some water dripping under the passenger side near the middle. Appears to be clear fluid... Any thoughts on if this something to be concerned about? Today was a hot 95 degrees and the AC was running at full blast so maybe AC condensation? However, it seems like an excessive amount. Anyone else have a similar behavior?

The humidity you guys on the east coast endure in the summer months will yield plenty of condensate.Originally Posted by n3rd

Ive been having the same issue. I went underneath and saw the drain hole spewing out water. I turned off the AC and it stopped immediately.
Do you think i have a leak somewhere?

Thanks Tony!
What year is your G wagon?
Would love to chat if you're open to it - 201-446-6095.
We just got our G in Dec and its a 2022, but we love it.

Every single car with air conditioning drips. Larger condenser, bigger cabin, high humidity, more drips. Air conditioning in your house drips, dehumidifiers drip, chilling condensers drip, similar to a cold glass of water dripping when it’s hot and humid. It’s not an issue, it’s science
The issue is when the line clogs, and you have all that water dripping inside your car…keep your filters clean and new and don’t leave the ducts wet where they attribute to growth on a dirty condenser, that than sloughs off and clogs the outlet nipple in the condenser box.

Thanks man!
I had the car running and the AC running and the water was coming out like an open faucet. Once i turned off teh AC, it imeediately stopped. Also 95 degrees today. Could that be the issue as well.

Yes the heat plays into it. Relative humidity is the ability of a hotter atmosphere's ability to hold more water. What this means is that 90 degree air at 60% humidity holds more water in it than 45 degree air at 60% humidity so when the air cools on the surface, the water drops out. Its the humidity RELATIVE to the air temp and as temp goes down, the water comes out of the air. Now interestingly, as the air cools, the relative humidity that may be 80% at 90 degrees raises as the temp lowers because the cool air can not hold the water once it reaches a relative 100% BUT then condenses on the condenser lowering humidity. Not bring mechanical devices into it, the example is that in a changing climate such as Maryland, the summers are humid and the winters are dry, but Arizona that has lots of heat but very little water in the air or ground would not produce as much water.Originally Posted by momo80

Hope that helps, I work in Ag and relative humidity is a concept not very well understood.
I experienced the same issue last summer right after I got my G63. There was a large "pond" of water under the passenger side after a long drive on a hot day. I was able to resolve it by turning down the rear AC and set it as the default since I seldom have passengers in the back seat. Since then, not a single drop of H2O. I think the G wagon comes from the factory so that if you set your AC in the front to SYNCH, it automatically does the same for the back seats as well. You just need to override it. Hope this helps.

This is good to know, Amy. Thank you. My rear AC is on and it doesn't need to be, or at least I turn it down some.Originally Posted by AmyC

I also noticed that the other day, especially when it is on the A/C Rest mode. It is completely normal.
