We had a terrible storm the day before 70mph winds, hail, tornadoes, etc…Guessing it gone blown on it side during the storm, the day after was windy, I guess enough wind to roll the can to the G.
.
I am hoping so!

If you run your finger nail along the marks does it catch on the scratches? If so it may be harder to fix well as it's below the paint. If it's all smooth and doesn't catch it should be fixable.
I had a lady scratch my previous Rover with her stroller (she wedged it in between our cars in a parking lot. Similar to you I parked where I thought I would be safe but she decided to park beside me. I was walking back to my car when I saw her getting kids out with the stroller between our cars and wondered why she hastily walked by me. I couldn't tell how close the stroller was walking up and didn't notice the scratches until I went to get gas and saw it by the gas cap. My nail got caught running it by the marks, so it was deep. Took it to a local detailer who buffed out what he could and redid opticoat in that area. Made it 90% better as others have said which I could live with.
Hoping to see some amazing restoration pictures after Monday!

I wish I would have pictures of the fixed product on Monday…I am just bringing it to the detail shop and the body shop for estimates and look evaluate my options.
From what I have been reading and as you said, if your nail catches, that means there is damage to the paint….so I am in trouble there.
Your stroller story is even more frustrating…people seem to be drawn to parking next to nice cars. (Garbage cans seem to be drawn to them too

I will post the results when completed.

The detailer said he could get it looking a lot better, but in certain lights it would be noticeable. (That was enough to sell me on the bodyshop).
Bodyshop estimated about 1k to fix it.
To address a previous question, IMO, PPF would have saved it. I have the hood, grill, and bumper covered with Xpel….I didn’t bother having Xpel put on from the front doors back.
Detailer agreed that PPF would have likely saved it. (Of course, I immediately figured he was just trying to make a sale). I asked the cost to PPF the doors, however, he had just covered the G with ceramic coat, he said it would be a lot of work, that he would do it, but preferred not too….
In 4-6 weeks she should be back to normal…
Probably the only reason to do it on a G would be to use Stealth to get the matte look.
