Has anyone heard that right now production and allocations are delayed due to constraints with the v8 engine?
Thanks

I ran into one of the higher up's at the Tuscaloosa plant last week. According to him, the Bosch injectors on the 63 are not passing emissions.

does this mean that 2021 allocations are delayed as well? Dealer I have deposit with expected the allocation to have arrived or arrive very soon as it was about the same timing as last year.

My guess is if it made it out of the factory you should be fine.

No, 21 production will continue. If you had a 22 allocated it would have been converted to a 21.

Not sure there is any truth to this story! There is obviously no shortage of G63 engines for the Aston Martin DBX!!!

Maybe Aston Martin is paying more for the M177 than Magna Steyr. The DBX is about half of AM's sales and all that's keeping the company alive.

That's interesting--one would think Mercedes would hog their own engine so they can keep printing money from G sales.

Mercedes reportedly has taken a 20% ownership stake in AM (https://www.bbc.com/news/business-54712376), so MB has much to lose if AM goes belly up.

Will 2022 G63 still be made? I want the mono block wheels which aren’t available for 2021.

I was notified of the same thing last week…Was supposed to be 3rd decade of July, now 1st decade of Sept…

However, today my SA called me and said after discussing with his MBUSA rep the notation in the system means the final inspection is occurring on 9/2/2021. . . It is all a bit bizarre. Screenshot of what the system shows is below. Does this sound correct??

I didn’t ask too much from my SA, so that’s he told me. Just 1st decade of September and the car will be on the water for about 3 weeks

mine sat at the port for 5 weeks waiting on EPA certification. Once they release it to the carrier, it took about a week.

No problem, I think it took about ten days. It took a day or two to unload the ship. Then, you have to wait for it to be released to the carrier. Mine was shipped by truck to Missouri from Baltimore. Some go by rail and then by truck to the dealership.

Not 3 weeks to cross the pond, but the ROROs often stop at several ports to off-load and on-load.

East Coast is about 15 days. West Coast about 4 weeks
If you add time from the factory to the port in Europe it's about a week, then another week to get it unloaded and shipped to the dealer.
