Favorite tires for G...20"?!

Other tires that maybe better than factory Pirelli Scorpions 20"? Pirelli hard to beat though.
Others that look better?

Not for 22 inch wheels that I know of. I would rather have Michelin’s, but they don’t make them last time I checked.

Name any brand - dumping the Pirellis was the first mod I made.

I have Perelli winter tires also, LoL
I had to purchase them through the dealership in order to have them store my summer tires. I was going to order Vredstein winter tires from Tire Rack.

Pirelli’s usually suck. The pzeros melted on the track on my 911 so I replaced them with Michelin PS4S.. day and night difference. I have tires and wheels warranty for g63 and so far claimed 5 times but would love to replace them with something better

It's annoying that you have at least 8 choices for alloy wheels, but most dealers have no idea what tires will be on a vehicle when it arrives. I pulled the Pirelli SZs off the G at 1K miles. Couldn't even give them away for the cost of shipping, so they're now on my LX that's a summer drive only. I should get 12K out of them, and then I'll mount a set of Michelin LTX Defenders.

defender LTX look good and 305/40R22 should fit okay on 22” AMG wheels..right? can’t believe the total reported mileage and the price of these ..

LTX Defenders are one of Michelin's biggest sellers - production volume = low price. I had these mounted on my Lexus GX and LX, and the treadwear is not exagerated. I put a set on my old Wrangler just a couple months ago. They're OK in snow while there's still 50%+ tread, but the M/S version isn't 3PSF rated - not sure about the LTX A/T version. 305/40R22 fit 22" wheels but I can't comment about clearance.

OEM Pirelli's should go straight in the garbage. I have had great luck with the Goodyear F1 Eagle that the car was initially launched with.

clearance should be fine, 305 is just wider than 295

So for 22 inch All terrain tires which ones fit the best without Rub or getting to close on turns?

The width of the tire also changes the diameter of the tire, because of the goofy way the dimension spec is expressed. 305 is the width in mm. 40 is the ratio (%) of sidewall height to width, which you double and add to the wheel diameter to find the overall diameter (and you need to convert mm to inches to make this more fun). The tire size calculator at www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp helps with the fun part.
Stick with a size close to OE. You're the only one who's gonna notice an extra half inch of rubber hanging out beyond the fender flares, and you can't see how cool this looks while you're driving anyway.
