Worldwide Stop Sale Notice on the G
https://gtspirit.com/2022/01/26/merc...-till-q4-2024/
"Mercedes-Benz has put a temporary stop on all orders of the G-Class, the exact reason has not been stated but the G-Class is completely sold out for the next 3 years. This comes at a time when the facelift model is undergoing winter testing.
The stop order took effect on 17th January, 2022 and is expected to go on until further notice. The G-Class has faced lengthy delays with buyers waiting in line for up to 15 months or more. In markets like the USA, V8 powered Mercedes models including the G550 and G63 AMG have been discontinued for the year 2022 due to parts shortage"

Seems unlikely it has to do with it actually being sold out?
They sold over 41k in 2021 with more than 8500 to the USA alone. That means 2022 should have effectively had an extra 20% production capacity worldwide.
Maybe quality control (as rumored for the V8), emissions (other rumor about the V8), or an early intro of MY 2023 once they clear the backlog of orders?

So last month the first ever AMG dealership was made here in Dubai and I mean just AMG no regular Mercedes cars. They speculate and also have heard from inside Mercedes Benz that the 2023 G's will have the GLE63 type of screen/ mbux not the S class version. Also they expect customers to start customizing their 2023 G's by mid 2022 and deliveries are expected from December onwards with a slight chance of them starting in September 2022. A G63 order here in Dubai costs about 30k USD and is none refundable lol, So you can bet we're getting our cars by 2023. To also give more context, 2022's were canceled in Dubai for a month or so until for some reason they opened up orders in july 2021 and most cars are already delivered. Im guessing things run differently in the US. Also they gave me a price range for the car since prices are not official yet, they speculate G63's will start at about 245k USD to about 280kUSD. ill keep everyone posted on any news that comes out from here.

I do not see how they can be sold out for the next 3 years...what does that actually mean?! Allocations come out each year so how could say, 2023 allocations be sold out when they have not been allocated?!
By the way, any thoughts on having a new forum for the EQG? It seems there should be both an ICE and E Forum since it is has been announced that both will be available for at least several years.

978 for sale on autotrader… many sitting on dealer lots. most of my dealer friends refuse to even buy these. Good luck to the moon boys thinking these will continue going up and the outlook for this year economically not looking too good. I just sold mine a week ago (for a profit of course.. while I still can)

This is the high point for inventory because MB pushed out a bunch of 2021's at end Dec to satisfy US dealers since there was not more being produced for the US market after 12/31/21. The last of production cars are hitting US dealer lots now. Then that is it for a while - nothing else coming in the pipeline until - we are not sure when but let's assume not until the fall at earliest. Perhaps later now that there is a global order halt ? Dealers know that they have something people want and that pricing will stay strong so why reduce the price. As inventory comes down in the next couple of months, I'm guessing pricing may still go up further (baring any major US market/economic meltdown). Should be interesting to see what happens but I'm thinking that pricing will remain strong (now especially with the question marks around future production). It the next available G production in the US (2023 model year) is hybrid powered then I think we can all agree the 2019-2021 will be even more sought after. Lots of unknowns at the moment.

This place is a joke.
Sounds like a Mexican standoff between dealers and potential G buyers. Neither one wants to take the hit when, and if, the music stops. I've seen quite a few original buyers selling a year or less later....are they simply cashing out, or did the hype and expectations not meet the reality of owning and driving one? Euphoria isn't forever. Personally I think they are overrated, overpriced and look dated.
