It will make noise regardless, I didn't drive one yet!

Does anyone what’s required to hook up the visor lights in the US? Are they wired and just need to install the switch or is a computer reprogram needed?

Not sure yet, but if it's wired then it could be software!! I did the prev 4x4 light bar with a separate switch. it wasn't wired though.

There are two visors - the one with the roof rack is designed to reduce wind noise, but it's taller. The visor with no rack will be noisier with a roof rack, but isn't as tall. I ordered mine without the rack knowing it would fit in my garage and that I could add the rack after the fact once I measure my garage clearance. It's 200lbs so it'll be tough to take on and off easily, but I prefer to have that option with the reduced height.

FYI - for everyone with a 4x4 there's a stop drive recall due to an issue with the rear axle transmission. Hope there is a quick fix!

bummer. Thanks for the heads up. How will they know if the rear axle transmission housing would need to be replaced if trucks haven't been driven? The recall calls for an inspection but what they will see is a brand new housing. Hopefully MB will just come out with a stronger housing and replace it on everyone's truck.

Wonder how many trucks have been affected to have it be a recall. I'm assuming most trucks that came to the US are still on dealer lots not being sold

The information I have is that they made a special axle housing for this new squared and the issue is with the new supplier. They got something totally wrong with the casting.

For our LeTech conversion we use the stock G63 axle housing, no issues.

My customers with our LeTech portal conversion G's will have fun driving past their dealerships for the next few months waving at all the factory cars waiting to be repaired.

whoa this is legit unacceptable. I have to imagine that the parts to fix this are probably months away from availability, if they even exist. People paying 150k ADM for this?? Yikes ^ 2

Just had a cute little factory 4x4² stop by the shop, showed him the video of what is happening to their axles, he is going to carefully drive it home and hope he makes it, haha! Nice to do a side by side comparison on mine vs theirs. Quite a bit taller.

If the stock G63 housing works, MB may just replace the new housing with the G63 non-squared housing. Just looking at the housing, the bolts are different.

Yeah hopefully they will be able to narrow it down to a specific run of castings that are flawed, if not they'll need to change every one of them.

UPDATE

This is not an isolated incident, many more videos and pictures will surface soon, it is effecting these across the board all over the world.

Common thing I see in the videos I have seen is they are all brand new vehicles with the blue plastic still on the running boards!

If you have one you should look at the area around the spot welds of the cast diff housing to the axle tubes, that is where they are cracking.

DM me for a picture of an example.

What A SHAME on Benz, SAD SAD SAD to See a very limited production vehicle has a Major issue like this, the dealers were told NOT TO SELL what they have in stock!!

The Question is Who would pay ADM for an overpriced Vehicle, to begin with knowing that it had to go thru the dealer shop for a major service like this, and that may not be the end of it?

Will the black tar-like anti corrosive material have to be scrapped off first to be able to see the spot welds?

If it is cracked you'll see it through the black tar from hell.

You'll see a clean spot of bare metal most likely.

Funny, I have the same photo.

Bottom photo shows one with the driveshaft hanging down with the pinion gear and part of the diff housing dragging in the dirt!

I guess MB's decision not to go with LeTech on production of these is biting them in the a$$!!!
