2022 G 63 4x4² Order Guide

For people that have their squared, what are you doing while you wait for the official recall notice to be sent to you. Are you still driving it, leaving it parked, or having the dealership take possession of it until a fix is rolled out. Seems like people on social media still drive their trucks and there haven't been any more word about additional trucks breaking down.

I saw one driving on the street here yesterday, so some are still driving them. The delaers I talked to yesterday were asking $150K ADM, but most were willing to come down $50K. (and no, I was not even entertaining the idea of paying an ADM). They were abbiding by the no-sale edict though, so you would have to wait to get it.

Happy New Year all!
To those currently in possession of a 4x4 Squared, any news from your dealer regarding the timeline and solution for a rear-end repair?
My vehicle is currently stuck at port awaiting a repair with no estimated timeline provided by MB.
Thanks

based upon the talk in this thread it sounds like you are gonna be waiting quite some time.

Really sad how bad MB fudged this up. I’m sure that those that purchased the squared have other cars in their garage they can drive for the time being but if I paid $350k+ for a car and I couldn’t drive it for a while I would be frustrated too!

I wonder if the truck that was used in this TFLCAR video had a rear diff housing off of the same batch that's being recalled. Roman Mica, the presenter, drove that truck for over 1k miles and even took it off road.

For those who bought a G550 Squared new, was there a configurator on MBUSA.com to spec it out? I’m really curious as to why they didn’t put one up for the 63 Squared, especially after they heavily emphasized how customizable this one was compared to the previous gen

lol, MBUSA did not even publish a regular G63 configurator! They just skipped a year!

1. the carbon dioxide emissions to high
2. the truck doesn’t fits in this time. We have a lot of climate activists the hate this kind of vehicle
3 doesn’t fits in MB new electric strategy
MB wouldn’t make negative publicity in media.
In my point of view, wrong strategy. this car is offered for 315.000€ MB market price. That’s app. 100.000€ than the regular G63. It’s absolutely overpriced. The aftermarket price is from 150.000-200.000€ over sticker. They are 50 pieces for sale on online platforms. Too much and too expensive. I see this car not the 50T€ over sticker in future.
The different between GER and US is,
the MB dealer sell this car always for Sticker price, whiteout ADM. If the car is value stable like limited models ( Ferrari, Porsche) and the price is rising up , than of course, the dealer buy this car back again from customer and sell ii for additional surcharge.
Also in Germany 99% all luxury car are custom made cars and already sold that means no dealer has a car from the factory standard equipped for sale. If you see any show cars in the showrooms, that’s already produced custom cars for exhibition.
The other thing is, MB is milking the cow as much as possible.
the are planning to produce 300 pic. More than the Black Series. 2000 pieces are planned to produce. Much more than expected.

here in Germany it’s easy to explain.

2013 S550 SOLD / 2016 S63 SOLD / 2017 GLS450 / 2017 G550 4x4 / 2019 G63 E1 SOLD / 2019 S63 COUPE
In my opinion that the New G63 4X4 has a lot softer look than the prev one, and it's nothing more than a factory-raised G63 with Major issues.

I bought my17 G550 4x4 new and the ONLY option that was available to choose from back then was the color everything else wasn't changeable, it wasn't added online except for a few months as an introduction to a limited production vehicle and it wasn't configurable as well.

I gotta say I agree with this. I have tried every conceivable way to justify this new one, rationalizing the price, the look, etc. But I got my ‘17 Electric Beam for 245k sticker and it’s been a rock solid rockstar ever since, and it looks WAY meaner than this new one. Softer is the perfect word. So for +100k MRSP and another +____k ADM, for a softer car when I already have a ‘19 G63?? Nah ….. just picked up a Urus, would rather spend this coin on a Cullinan.
Oh, and my axle is still good.

Hey fellas -
Had a 2020 G63 that we traded for a 2021 GLS63 and are thinking about getting back into a G63 4x4 Squared. We have an allocation to build one - I suspect it won't be coming anytime soon - but does anyone know if MB has a solution on the 'not built yet'?
We either do this, or a normal G63.
Thanks.
