I have a Model Year 2023 G63 on a boat right now. Should be in my collection within the next 30-45 days.
Will let you know if there's anything major that's changed, but I do not expect any changes other than the dramatic increase in base MSRP.

you would know if anything changes on a car you ordered 🤨

New order
I just reserved a slot a couple of weeks ago. My SA mentioned that the facelift is expected to be revealed later this year, May or June.
MY24 cars will have the facelift, new air intakes, revised bumpers and lighting design (mostly rear tailights) and MBUX update (new software and updated switchgear).
Got the expected delivery timeframe for sometime in March or April 2024.

Hasn’t that been the rumor every year for the past 2-3 years? Lol. Still don’t get the obsession with MBUX. I used it on a loaner one time and wasn’t impressed. Apple CarPlay is 100x better…

I don't care so much about the MBUX interface (CarPlay FTW) but do want touch screen which should also come with the system update hopefully

Haha basically people every year would post “next year is MBUX!!!” and the rest of us would be annoyed because the car just came out.
This time we actually have mules and spy pictures. Also with the eqg coming out it makes sense to update something.
Infotainment is the last of my concerns with the G. As long as I have CarPlay. I don’t want a touch screen because it’ll get dirty and it’s too far to reach.

SL is coming with a V8 without any mild hybrid and why are you assuming there will be no V8?
The major reason why this car is selling is because it's a V8.

I don't know where you get this rumor, but AMG specifically said they will sell V8s for the next 10 years (in 2022).

So, things change. Whatever was said earlier in 2022 means nothing to me anymore.

Breaking News!
Only difference in 2023 G-Class compared to 2019-2022 is missing auto start stop function. Must have ran out of parts just like GM did in order to keep the production line of the Escalade moving.

Totally agree. Amg V8s will surely be around for a few more years. Albiet with some added EQ boost gimmickry and mild hybridization.
Not confirmed by my SA when I asked, but the MY24 facelift may include the EQ Boost system in the G63 V8s, like what we're seeing in the other recently launched AMG models.

Obviously, I hope you're all correct. Your optimism is admirable.
But, I doubt it. Every day, more car manufacturers are moving steps closer to an all electric (or majority electric) fleet.
Even Rolls-Royce will be phasing out their sweet V12 at the end of each model's lifetime (first one was Wraith --> Spectre) in favor of all-electric.
