Is the G shortage over?

Yeah trading it in if you can save on taxes makes a huge difference. NC's sales tax is only 3% but it's still $6,000 left on the table since the selling dealer didn't want the car--they offered the MSRP for my 2021 lol.
I did well with my 2021 so no complaints here, just a public service announcement.
Dealer I sold to listed the car for $220k today.

Gotcha. I heard allocations going out this month are for September delivery and still 2023’s.
Allocation was from October, and I went olive green with saddle interior including dash. Carbon fiber, cf/alcantara wheel, night package and monoblocks. MSRP thankfully.
Told my usual dealer to call me for a 2024 and we will see how the market is then. My guess is they won’t come out until this time next year.

Nice build, I went with deep green and saddle interior. Not a huge fan of CF so selected walnut instead with alcantara and the night package etc. Looking forward to seeing some pics of yours when it arrives!

Thanks yes I prefer the grey matte wood but was suckered into carbon fiber by the original order guide that said it would be free lol. Oh well I've never had it before so it'll be a nice change. The last car had piano black which I didn't spec and won't get again.
I think they will run the V8's for awhile, the question is will they try to do a hybrid setup like the other AMG's are getting and that remains to be seen.

Our cars are relatives
My build date was begging of February, and last week my dealer also called to tell me it will be here by the end of next month !
I went with Monza Grey with machiato beige interior, CF, forged wheels and night edition plus with black matt everywhere,
my dealer didn't tell me the price yet, so I really hope is not going to curve ball me there with the ADM.
I know that the MSRP hasn't changed since 2022, but the market did cooled... I'm from CA so still ADM's running here.
What would you think will be the limit i should accept? I'm going to lease it and write it off my business

G63's can be had for <$5,000 ADM these days, even in the Bay Area, CA. I joked with my dealer I'd buy one off the lot at a discount, he thought I was serious and said he'd do it immediately at MSRP. They had 4 G63s on the lot, 3 of them apparently were customer cancelations. I can only assume they were ordered with ADM agreements and while the market softened, the customers balked and the dealership kept them in hopes someone would walk in willing to shell out $50k over MSRP like last year.

My bet is many G class buyers won’t be interested in an electric version for some time. It goes against what a G is. Sure there will be initial demand as there is for any new vehicle but I think it will fade. I also don’t think MSRP will be over $200K. Just a guess but it isn’t like the 4x4.
Everyone will want one.
I’ve just paid my deposit. Still keeping the V8 2019 but the EQG will be the new standard. Save this post and come back to it in a year when the EQG is out.

Ok thanks. But how can it be a "free" upgrade? That doesn't make sense... the newer one is worth more. Why would they allow you to swap it at no additional cost?

I think it’s smart to trade frequently if you can find dealers to give you allocations and get at MSRP.
Reset the miles and get some different colors. Granted I wouldn’t do it if I were losing $10k a pop but breaking even or even losing a couple thousand why not.
My goal is to always be under warranty and never have to pay for a brake job lol.

Thats funny as i see the largest auction house in the usa market (manheim auto auction) with prices on a downward spin. You can buy all the g wagons you want right now, whether on cars.com. manheim ove, autotrader. etc. Anyone paying over msrp now, needs to be educated. The pigs (dealers and flippers) are headed out for slaughter.Hoping all the customers that got clubbed like a baby seal during the covid mess. remember the dealers that clubbed them.here are 4 screen shots of manheim sold cars from recent, starting with 2019 g63 to 2022 g63. and you decide if a g wagon is still like finding a stainless rolex. haha

Just Being Honest
I'm not trying to burst your bubble but you're showing off the pricing for vehicles and advising customers are getting gouged by dealers but if you look at the original monroney, wagons are priced at brand new around 200-210 based on options and such so if it's a used option and priced at 210k with 5k mileage that would be over priced, but the pricing dealers are doing over sticker is accurate in line with the current market.
So while this is informative you're honestly contradicting yourself as I work directly at a Mercedes dealer and monitor the market constantly.

The market is the same as it was pre-Covid, which is $25-$50K over MSRP if you want one now. Or you find a dealer that won’t charge over MSRP (if possible in the US!) and wait 1-3 years.
