G63 2024 Facelift

Hi ! I know this thread and topic were discussed for so long, but my story is that I have an order that should be here in July/august.
I'm concerned about that facelift because getting this car just to find that MY2024 is going to be facelifted with MBUX etc. going to ruin me. i might burn the car!!
So I asked my dealer, one of the biggest in SoCal, and he knows nothing about it... I tried to ask other dealers or people that can know, but again,
no one knows if 2024 gone be the facelift... I'm a VIP at my dealership, so if il decide to wait, they will keep my allocation to 2024, but from what I know, they technically can't
give or take any allocations to 2024 because those are being released by MBUSA only around the end of October...

The reason I'm so hyped for that upgrade is the because I have a c63s coupe 2023 with COMAND and almost similar interior as the G wagon... and I feel the age and the necessity of the MBUX refresh!
Can someone also share how the g63 and c63 w205 differ? Or do they have the exact same features within the cockpit and the main screen?

Any help or advice will be really helpful!

The current G63 basically has the same internal features and almost same controls as your older C63. My understanding from my dealer is that the facelift is delayed until MY 25. Will see. Facelift would probably only change command to the MBUX touch screen currently used in the 2022-2023 E-Class (Not the center console screen in the S,SL etc..). Rear camera looks like it would be moved to the bumper with no camera cover and minor air inlet changes on the front bumper. Driver assistance electronics are probably getting upgraded. Spy photos show very little else changed.

I don't think missing out on a refresh is that catastrophic. This isn't like a Range Rover where it's obvious when it's changed and people always want the newest thing.

My guess based on the fact that spy photos have been around for awhile is that the original plan was to refresh for 2024, but manufacturers all the time decide to delay for various reasons, so it's possible they decided to wait until 2025.

2024 allocations in October would make sense for delivery in February or so which is what happened for 2023.

My advice is to take your current order and get back in line and trade in when it's finally updated. Unless you put a crapload of miles on the vehicle you'll be fine. If you keep waiting for 2025 that's a lot of time missing out on enjoying a G.

the use of apple carplay, etc. is always talked about but one of the underrated features is finding the address in the mb app and sending it your vehicle..doesn't do the best in finding the best route or adding waypoints like google maps but it's nevertheless easy and pretty quick..

Spoke to my rep about a 2024 and he claimed they do not expect any 24s to be a facelift. Maybe some incremental changes but not a major facelift. The big addition to 2024 is going to be the electric G and they are going to be asking big bucks over msrp for that one. So it could be quite a while before we see a major update to the exterior. Unclear if there will be any major overhaul to the interior digital. I'd say that is more important than a facelift at this point. The exterior is still pretty badass.

I heard from my dealer that electric g is also delayed into 2025 model year.

That’s not surprising. My guess is the refresh occurs same year as electric G comes out. 2025 sounds like.

I have G63 2020 my wife GLS 550 2023 I did not know she had what's called MBUX I CANNOT STAND IT! The system is not intuitive it's overly complicated. I cannot figure out how to use the AC absolutely terrible
when I get into the G wagon the system is user friendly (Some what) and much more intuitive

yea I hate going to the service dept and getting a vehicle with mbux. It is so much less intuitive than command.

not exactly defending MBUX but I think the newer generation ones like the ones first debuted on the W223 S-Class and the generation after that so the one debuted on the new W214 E-Class is better. The one in the W214 E-Class I am assuming called the MBUX 3.0 (?) opposed to the MBUX 2.0 found on the W223 S-Class is more refined and more simplified compared to the first generation.

Not a fan of only having a touch screen but if the EQG gets such system it might not be as bad as we thought or at least I hope if they retained all the buttons like shown on the facelift V167 GLE and X167 GLS. MB is also coming out with MB.OS so basically the MBUX 4.0 (?) that is based on an entire new platform, that will be interesting as well.

Sounds about right since 25 is likely the facelift.

love my 23 G63, only thing that is lacking is the stereo and power - could use a bit more power

other than that love it - just got through break in so now am looking at a tune - anyone else worry about rear main seal tuned? or is it just noise?

that article is not accurate. It is conflating the story about the eqg and an expected facelift.

I might push mine for 2025 as well.
My only concern: Merc does not mess with V8 in G63

The V8 will stay, along side the electric...I have a deposit on the latter - it should be epic, I was a bit leary until I drove an AMG EQE SUV a couple of weeks ago but if the electric G is on par with that count me in.

I've bought three G63's from three different dealers all at MSRP. I'm back in line at all three. I'll be fine.

It’s 100% believable because I’ve also only paid MSRP and am paying MSRP on my upcoming MY24 G63. It all depends on what market you’re in…

Actually you are right I didn’t pay just MSRP:
2021 - paid $150 below MSRP (Mercedes forgot to invoice floor mats and dealer honored it)
2022 - paid $1000 above MSRP for tint and nitrogen in tires
2023 - paid MSRP

I don’t see any gwagons in the USA that sell at msrp. Maybe if you are in another country sure.
In Atlanta they are selling 2023s at 100,000 adm.
