GM noted delivery around April 2024.
But he has no clue when Merc will release next allocations.
Being an AMG Performance Center matters in regard to # of allocations they receive?

Delivery April 2024 would mean allocation in October/November and build in February/March give or take a month. Take it if you want to be guaranteed the V8 but may want to wait until MY2025 if you want the latest thing.

Once you get a purchase order number you are set, anything before that is just talk.

No idea about AMG performance center--it's all about volume and dealer size.

Yeah if you don’t already have an allocation then an April delivery is very unlikely. It takes about 6 months to take delivery after you have a confirmed allocation.

Just read an update on the 2024 G-Class and looks like black running boards are coming for night packages and there will be something called a "Schoeckl Design Package."

I prefer latest but we never know if Merc introduces V6 hybrid on G63.
I rather have V8..

Zero chance they will do V6 on a G63. If anything it'll be the 63+ system they have done on the S/CLS/etc.

Tried to find more info about this since the DOG has super low res pictures for it:
Schöckl spare wheel cover insert
Schöckl exterior protective strip
Schöckl front door sill panel

On the German configurator its pricing is 1,011.50€ and it’s, IMO, pretty cheesy. The protective strip says “Schöckl Proved” and has lat long coordinates all over it. Guessing the door sill and spare tire cover is something similar.

Quick video of the side strips here:

I asked my dealer about the black running boards, and they said the Dealer Ordering Guide shows: Night Package Updates: MANUFAKTUR Black Running Boards now included in DC1, DE9, DF4.

2024 G63 allocation
Just got a PO for January build. Dakota Brown Magno over Yacht Blue. Local dealership is doing it for MSRP for me. If you can't get your local dealership to do MSRP....don't waste your time, you're gonna pay over sticker, no chance otherwise. Believe me.....I've tried until I was pulling my hair out. Gonna have to wait until January for the build to start, but it's worth not paying over sticker. That's when you get hurt, no matter what on resale/trade. It just makes me sick when dealerships charge over sticker because it's all of here that take it in the shorts. Not that this would ever happen, but everyone would stop buying over sticker for a year, it would stop or slow down dramatically. Fat chance that happens though🤣🤣🤣

Mine has finished production and is awaiting shipment, late Sept build and dealer estimating arrival by mid November

Curious to see how the dealer is going to value my 21 G63 trade-in, very excited either way

Noticed they are using a new cursive "Manufaktur" font on the grab handle for those that opted for the upgraded interior like the S-Class Maybach etc which is a nice touch

Tried to buy the airbag off of a GLS63 via parts because I want mine in black leather with black stitching versus the crappy standard plastic, but my dealer is pushing back saying it won't fit on an identical steering wheel (maybe internal wiring harness clips different)

I really hope you post some pics once you take delivery! My dealership told me a while back the 24s were getting the touch screen and I will ask them again about that and post back what they say now, vs a few months ago when I first started talking to them about a build. The pics will put to bed what they are upgrading or not, inside especially. If anyone has more info on the blacked out running boards, that would be good to know especially if you have the option number/designation you could share. Otherwise I will get "we don't know anything about that" from them 🤣.

What do you guys think about Dakota Brown Magno with magno night packages etc, 22 matt spoke wheels with Yacht blue inside and 2 tone dash to give a little bit of black....vs....same interior and Chine Blue exterior with night packages and black roof? I already have the PO with Dakota, but have some time to change I believe. It's hard to decide, everytime I see China Blue I second guess myself. This will more than likely be my last G63, especially if they go to only EQG moving forward. If it doesn't chuggg, it just isn't a G63 to me.

Here is what I will say as a nobody:

1) MY24 will be identical to MY23 etc no MBUX it is all still the command system, there is no touchscreen the facelift is coming for MY25, very insignificant changes for MY24 as you can see in the order guide

2) MY25 will still have the V8 for G63 alongside EQG release and that's all I will say, either take my word for it or don't!

3) Can't speak to your specs as there are an infinite number of combinations to really make your G class how you want it, it is very subject to individualized tastes and that's why Benz offers the level of colors they do for interior and exterior. I find a lot of specs including all blacked out not to my taste, but it goes both ways they would probably say the same thing about my build with chrome brush bar and silver 21s instead of 22s etc... very very hard to go wrong, this is why I wanted my allocation because I couldn't find a build like mine

Thanks for the feedback and I agree with you on the MY25. This will be my 5th G63 since 2019 with 3 of them being builds I've done myself. Everytime I trade one, I regret it so this time I will be keeping this one and want it loaded and exactly how I want it. If the MY25 will be that significantly changed, hope the MY24 will hold it's value.....if I decided to trade for MY25. Hopefully I can make my mind up on Dakota vs China🤪. One thing I wish they would do too is offer the Burmester high end 3D on the G's. Our GLS 600 Maybach has it and I can tell a difference between the two for sure. Maybe MY25 will have it.

That's perfect, do they require your existing one? How was the install and swap?

this one is just the cover. And you use your existing airbag. You don’t need to send them anything. you can get them with a new oem airbag i think, but I didn’t see the point.

There is a tutorial video on YouTube:

It is a c class but same steering wheel. shows how to remove the airbag and replace the cover. It was a pretty easy install tbh.
Im presuming the 2024 will still have the old style AMG steering wheel. So should be same procedure.

Perfect thanks for the vid. I meant did they need you to send them your existing cover, for them to upholster, or they just send you an entirely new one?
