I use Gyeon trim with cut up foam applicator pads and it will not only restore, but protects the plastic, brings back the nice matte black finish and becomes a barrier that lasts and lasts. It does not wash off and stays put. I did this to the entire plastic black trim on the entire vehicle including the hood vent, plastic faux gutters and rear vents as well as the kick panel above the side steps. Snow and ice and mud wash off easily as it makes the surface like a sort of non-stick pan. I really recommend this to anyone with any car that has factory plastics. See the attached photos as an example of how it looks after application...

Each insert cost approximately $40! Replaced them before you install them I had sprayed them with rustoleum, black flat bumper spray paint and they look amazing ! No need for a clear coat

Yes, My 21 G63 has one faded out dealer is replacing under warranty.
I have the same problem with my ‘21 G63. Dealer is telling me they have to remove the bumper and parking sensor to replace the plastic vent. Same for you?
Try Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer Spray. Very quick and easy. Looks like new.

For Gyeon trim to adhere and bond to the plastic to then harden and cure the plastic must be clean and all other products removed. Gyeon prep or a plastic trim coating prep is a must if you have any greasy or other products over the plastic now. Use a degreaser or some sort of good cleaner. Basically tape should be able to stick to the plastic or otherwise be bare to accept the product to bond.
Fellow ED1 owner here. Picked one up last summer that had the full car in matte PPF (wish I knew who made the film) and like others have said, I definitely recommend applying it to the entire car if you can afford it from a protection aspect, but to also make sure it matches visually given the combo matte and metallic nature of the paint.
I was able to find my unicorn after searching for about a year and a half. Car had 8k miles and full PPF already applied to the car. Couldn’t be happier!
