Heater carbon fiber steering wheel

Hey guys,
if i choose the heated carbon fiber steering wheel.
(i know the 2 performance button will be removed)

will the carbon top and bottom part heat up? (Will the whole steering wheel heat up or only the
suede sides?)

I've only had heated steering wheel with the base option, but If I remember correctly reading on the forums, it's only the alcantera parts that are heated.

No, I have the heated carbon fiber steering wheel and only the suede sides are heated, not the carbon fiber part of the steering wheel.

the carbon fiber cant be heated, the coil gets pretty hot it would cause damage to the weave and resin. would be a big mess

carbon doesn't heat up and even on suede, i find that the heat is very weak.

I seem to remember reading somewhere if we choose the carbon fiber steering wheel the drive mode dial at 4/5 o'clock selector and ride buttons at 7/8 o'clock are deleted? Can one of you guys with the CF wheels confirm? Thank you.

yes, you’re correct, I don’t have either of those with the carbon fiber heated steering wheel.

Ok thanks guys.
seems for the 2024 model year in Canada. If i pick the carbon option. Its the full carbon package only. Soo no choose anymore.
i guess i’ll get the carbon everything.
sucks. I hate the suede on a steering wheel. It gets dirty within 6 months.

btw i have the carbon steering wheel on my Cayenne turbo 2019 and the heating on the carbon part
is awesome ! Wish the MB steering was as good.

now i know the heating carbon is bad on the G. Maybe i should pick the AMG button on the steering in stead of the heated wheel?
how often are the AMG steering button used? I mean the same button for the Sport drive is right there in the center
near your hand rest…

Can’t you just put all those selections in individual mode on the center column button?

I honestly don’t use the ride control , and don’t use the drive mode because I don’t like how it drives and rides in the sport modes. I ordered my 24 with the carbon fiber package and heated carbon fiber steering wheel again.

yes, you can put those settings on the center console. I never use those settings, I don’t like the way it drives or rides in sport or sport+.

Every steering wheel either has the buttons or heated steering wheel option. Doesn't matter if it's wood, carbon, etc.

Hodog you're an invaluable knowledge bank here!

To be clear, it's either/or right? So if you do not option heated steering wheel, whatever wheel choice you pick will have the two rotary AMG toggles as standard? Because I optioned wood wheel and no heat

That’s is correct. There are two different codes for the heated steering wheel (LH1) vs the AMG performance steering wheel (VL9).

really? The thing needs the sport modes to corner at any sufficient speed. Otherwise the body roll is very noticeable.

For me body roll/sport modes or not, I just find the toggle dials on the wheel to be very very cool and add to the "fun factor" "AMG" ethos of the car

Similar to the manettino I had on my Ferraris which was so cool!

I've had both options and prefer the AMG drive buttons as well, but the heated steering wheel is nice. Too bad we can't do both.
