Haha I specced my 2024 to be near identical to my 2021 so I can relate. Bummer to hear about the CF wheel but that's an awesome spec. My build is scheduled for 11/24 and dealership knows the CF wheel is a must-have or dealkiller, don't know why all manufacturers are now usually only giving all leather steering wheels as the sole option (even Porsche)

 

I just missed the CF steering wheel so they substituted leather with Alcantara inserts

Totally agree. When I first submitted my options my dealer told me the factory wouldn't let me add CF interior trim and CF steering wheel. I told him to wait until these 2 unlocked as I didn't want the car without them.

Somehow after a couple of weeks my dealer reached out saying both have been added and my order is confirmed for October production. Maybe it was a supply shortage or something?

 

It was a supply shortage for the steering wheel. I told my SA the same thing. He said, Mercedes wouldn’t hold my order. It turns out, I’m getting the steering wheel. Ridiculous on an expensive vehicle to not have the parts available. I remember the microchip shortage. That was a supply chain issue. During Covid, I waited 5 months for the HVAC system for my home.

 

Mine got produced like ~10 days ago. Hoping to get it in the next 2 weeks.

Does anybody know is the US spec gets the grill guard for the 25?

 

Yes, it’s going to have the bull bars. Europe doesn’t because of pedestrian crash restrictions.

 

Good to know. Do you know what the bull bar is labeled as on the spec sheet? I'm finalizing my build and want to make sure I select the right color option.

 

I don’t think it’s an option, I ordered the black chrome trim and I think mine will be black to match. I don’t have the black trim on my 24 and it’s painted silver.

 

I didn't spec the night package but there's a line item labeled as black protective bar in obesdian black. I want the bar to be silver so not sure. Do you know if that line item is referring to the bull bar?

 

Not sure, ask your SA or general manager before Mercedes locks your order. They locked my order almost immediately, so make sure everything is correct with your order before they place it.

 

Grill guard in the US is standard. You cannot option a build without it, and there's nothing to select to include it.

 

I agree, it wasn’t an option, I’d rather not have it at all.

 

I think no grill guard on the G580 though, right?

My allocation has arrived and I am trying to finalize my build. I thinking I’m going to go with Monza Grey mango, but I don’t want any silver accents on the car. Has anyone here been able to get an answer on whether the Carbon package includes black badging, grill/star, running board and exhaust (possibly as options)?

I really want the carbon package but it seems goofy that it would only be able to option it on a car with silver brush guard, badges, etc. I don’t like the black bumpers that comes with the Night Magno package, so I guess the only other option would be the dark chrome and add exhaust/running boards.

Many of the vehicles I’ve seen reviewed on YouTube that have the Carbon Package have dark chrome or gloss black badging, running boards, exhaust and smoked indicators. Granted these are euro spec vehicles but it seems like that should carry over to us.

It also seems ridiculous that I have to get the bull bar on the car but it doesn’t seem like it can be deleted.

 

I didn’t order the exterior carbon fiber for those reasons. I ordered the dark chrome, black running boards and exhaust tips. No, you can’t delete the bull bar, I asked. They have pedestrian crash ratings in Europe, that’s why they don’t have the bull bar.

I haven’t seen anyone post a build sheet with the Carbon Package for the exact same reasons you didn’t order it and I probably won’t either.

I’m in Atlanta and one of our dealerships here sells a ton of wild spec G63’s. I’m going to speak with a them and see if they can assist with any guidance before I finalize this and I’ll post up their feedback as soon as I can.

I’m also surprised there isn’t a ceramic brake option considering there’s a performance pack option.
