[QUOTE=Hodog16;8984371]Mercedes does this all the time, sitting on cars until the release date. Nothing you can do until it shows up but awesome it’s already built.
Do you have any idea when that release might be? I think i got excited a bit too fast and now i got the sad news… do you think it’s gonna take meaybe a week or two? Or more ?

Well no way for any of us to know, but I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it--it'l show up eventually!

My sales associate viewed the cars at the dealership and the hotel where they resided overnight. Here are his pictures (sorry but no wide exterior shots of the G580). The G550 was also there (no pictures).
I arrived at 8 am and the G63 and G580 were out and about.

I spoke with my SR. He told me that most brush guards/bull bars (whichever you like to call them) are now illegal in EU and UK. Apparently, a study was done recently and it showed collisions involving pedestrians and vehicles equipped with them caused a higher level of fatalities.
They are still legal in the US, so I think we can anticipate them on the '25's.

As for it being carbon, that was never shown in any of the reviews of being an option and I personally think it doesn't make sense since the purpose of a brush guard is to be the first point of contact or to protect from debris/offroading.
Also I don't really get the carbon in other sensitive areas (like the under guard), but to each his own. I would however, like to replace the side strip with the carbon one if MB will allow me to purchase that part after delivery and just replace.

Nice. I like that in the G580 guide it states that "Edition 1 will be exclusively available for CY24. Available in five uniquely selected Paint Finish"
Maybe there is still hope I can spec one for the 2025 MY!

The order guide shows "AMG Suspension with adaptive damping adjustment" as standard equipment. The AMG Performance Package (DC2) includes AMG Active Ride Control suspension (A22).
I assume that these are different since you can option the DC2 package. Does anyone know the difference?

In the German configurator it was a stand-alone option but does not look like it here? I know it has an option code but I don't see it listed a la carte.
What's funny is the 2024 order guide says ride control is standard:

Does anyone know yet whether one can order 21” wheels or wheels other than the techgold wheels (RP5) with the AMG Performance Package? @nsgymd helpfully mentioned the German configurator allowed a person to order the Performance Package and then change the wheel design. Hope that can be done in the U.S. as well.
Also noticed in the U.S. Order Guide that black running boards and the black exhaust system are only available as part of the Night Package Plus. With the German configurator these could be added when ordering the “regular” Night Package if one wanted the black running boards and exhausts without the black wheel arches that come with the Night Package Plus.
Finally, very well may have missed it, but am not seeing any mention of a heated steering wheel. Is that standard equipment now? Hardly a deal breaker but curious if anyone has any insights.
Many thanks for posting the order guides, @Eaton !
