did a deal over the phone on Friday and was assured car was in good condition. Drove 2 hours on Saturday to pick-up the car and about 5 feet away you can see the orange peel on the paint. Walking up to the car the entire driver side was resprayed poorly with contamination in multiple spots. Very surprised for a CPO car and at a MB dealership. Just wanted other buyer to beware of this paintwork with a clean carfax on W1NYC6BJ4MX411930

 

CPO only as good as the people performing inspection.

 

Car sales man are the lousiest and the sleeziest of all the professionels out there. I have bought several cars out of state and every time I do that, I make sure there's no resprayed panels and yet three times they made me cover over 600 miles only to find out the car has had paint work.

They obviously want you to come over and then give you like $100-$150 discount and try to sell you the car that you don't want to buy

A vehicle being resprayed wouldn’t discount it from being CPO’d. The entire Benz lineup has orange peel in the paint.

 

If you saw this is person I think you would have a very different option. Now i can see the orange peel in the photos online which I didn't pick-up. In person it is about 4 times worse.

 

You can also pay an appraiser to inspect the vehicle instead of making a trip to the dealer if it’s far away.

 

Wow, I dealt with them 20 years ago and it was so bad I swore I'd never buy an Audi ever again. Guess they never changed.

Yeah I've gone though 63+ cars in my life so far. Just been lucky i guess.

 

Yeah, I hired someone to look at a GT3 I purchased out of state. When you’re spending that kind of money, you can never be too careful.
