Do I Need Winter Tires
My G550 came with summer tires, question is do I need winter tires (see average weather below)? Retired, so don’t do anything too early, except golf in the summer. G Wagen is parked in a heated garage. Only snows once or twice and will just stay home that day. Snow is gone in a day or two. Mostly sunny dry days. Will not be taking it to snow country.

Right or wrong, personally I do not drive on the summer tires when it is under 45 degrees. I mean maybe if it's like 43-44 with forecast to get warmer soon, we're splitting hairs here, but definitely not when it's like 38-40 degrees.
If you drive later in the day it's probably less of an issue, especially if you have another car you can drive.
I don't think you need winter tires but you could change into all-seasons or all-terrain to be confident.

Curious what tires came with your 2025 G550. Pre-facelift I thought all the 20” options were all-season Pirelli. My guess is your use case doesn’t seem like you need dedicated winter tires. Are your tires true summer performance tires (eg. Pilot Sport 4 SUVs?) or do you mean more in the colloquial summer tire / winter tire sense? You could always consider something like CrossClimate2s if you want something more capable.

I used to drive all-seasons for all my vehicles (sports cars were parked in the winter).
One winter I got a wild hair and bought blizzaks and threw them on a M3. The car was a beast in the WI winters.
Since then, I run separate winter and summer tire setups for all my cars (the 911 stays parked in winter). The g-wagon is invincible with winter tires.
Back on topic, I justify the extra set of tires as the sets last 2x as long since you are only running them 1/2 the year and you have better traction in summer and in winter.
To answer the OP, if you don’t get them you will need them. If you do get them you won’t need them.
