Do I Need Winter Tires
If you drive later in the day it's probably less of an issue, especially if you have another car you can drive.
I don't think you need winter tires but you could change into all-seasons or all-terrain to be confident.

One winter I got a wild hair and bought blizzaks and threw them on a M3. The car was a beast in the WI winters.
Since then, I run separate winter and summer tire setups for all my cars (the 911 stays parked in winter). The g-wagon is invincible with winter tires.
Back on topic, I justify the extra set of tires as the sets last 2x as long since you are only running them 1/2 the year and you have better traction in summer and in winter.
To answer the OP, if you don’t get them you will need them. If you do get them you won’t need them.

Agreed, they chased me out of the dealership to have me sign something stating I understood these tires are not to be used in cold weather. Luckily I had my winter from my previous G to use.
Heck, (I think) the g63 should come with all-terrains. Nobody is tracking these things and you know there will be plenty of “non-car people” who drive these tires in the winter thinking that their off-road icon with triple lockers is suitable for the snow….

I have a rack from tire rack that stores them well. (Prior to that I stacked them on the would rack to the right of the tire rack…prior to that I just stacked them in the garage.
I do my own maintenance so I just swap them when doing oil change or other maintenance…but I enjoy it.
It would be a hassle if you had to bring them some where for the swap, cart the extra set with you, etc…
