Looking at a 2021 G550. I am coming from Range Rovers and am currently in a 2025 Cayenne which I just don’t love. This vehicle is a 1 owner, but has 86k miles. No CPO is available due to the mileage, but the dealer offered a 3yr/50k mile warranty. It’s the “4 Star MAP” option attached. It seems like a complete piece of crap so I’ve given a respectful no thanks, but was curious the groups opinion.
The vehicle was a 1 owner, serviced twice per year at the same dealer. Recent service included the front brakes, but no the rears. The rears were stated at 60% life. I am surprised by this, at 86k miles. My defender needed new front and rear at 50k…
Tires are Michelin Primacy Tour A/S. Any thoughts on these? I thought factory was Pirelli.
Options attached. Dealer is asking $96k. I’d appreciate any insights!
There are a number of Black '20 and '21, no accident, black G550's with about half the mileage for no more than about $8K... why not look at one of them instead? Price in my my option no where near justifies the price.

Trenton thanks for the comment! I’m glad I posted here. I’ve been looking but haven’t found any relatively near by which meet my spec. Blue, black, or green w/ beige interior.
Should have asked on the W465/W63A forum. I just read your post because I clicked on this forum by accident. I was also going to say you should be able to find a little lower mileage ones at about the same price with CPO but the beige interior is pretty rare. Some options are a must have for me too. I don't like most of the stock G550 wheels so I when I found a CPO one where the previous owner swapped out some G63 wheels on theirs, I was sold.
I also have a 2019 Range Rover and absolutely love the interior, how it rides, and how much stuff you can throw in it. But when I have to make sudden turns on the freeway or drive a bit more aggressively, I miss my old Macan and Cayenne. I replaced my rear rotors on the Rover last fall at about 60k miles but the front rotors had plenty of life. Not great but way better than previous Land Rover brakes. The CPO on my G550 ends in April and mine has been solid so far at about 62k miles. Leaning towards not extending the CPO warranty. The only car warranty I've trusted is Fidelity Platinum. I got a refundable warranty I wasn't familiar with on the 2019 Range Rover from a DGDG dealer just so I'd have something. It actually covered an alternator failure so I haven't cancelled it.

D'oh! Thanks – shows how much I know. Maybe a moderator can help move this thread.
I thoroughly enjoyed my RR (2019 ATB) but funny... I could never manage to fit enough stuff in it!! The extremely luxe seats took up too much space. I got rid of the RR once the warranty was up – it immediately failed the water pump at the dealer, >$12k (to them) repair cost. I'm not too interested in another one for that reason. The G seems more spartan, which fits my use case a bit better than the luxe. I am in north north Maine woods.
I don't want to talk you out of the G550, because there is nothing like one. I do think you need to make sure the cargo space works for you. The cargo space is large but the rear wheel wells take up a a good amount of it. In the Range Rover, there's a nook on the right side of the load space I call the "driver nook" because if you place the head of golf club drivers in there, you can fit four sets of golf clubs flat and sideways. In the g-wagon, you have to straddle golf bags across the two wheel wells or remove the longer clubs and load golf clubs upright. When you fold the rear seats down, it's not flush with the cargo area. If you leave the loadspace cover in place, with the rear seats down, things don't easily slide into place depending on its size. This article describes what to look out for. https://www.autoblog.com/features/me...0-luggage-test. Hopefully what you normally put in your car won't be an issue.

That is a hilarious read – thank you for sharing! You make sound arguments. My use is a little different – the back is exclusively for my spoiled pup. This means all my luggage ends up in the rear seats. The RR ATB seats were so luxe, I could never fit anything. I live in a pretty harsh environment (think Alaska-esque) down many miles of dirt and gravel. The SUV's certainly get used as intended. I do, however, really appreciate you trying to talk me out of the G.
The dealer lists "SUSPENSION w/ ADAPTIVE DAMPING $1,400" on their listing, but I see it as a standard option here. Am I missing something? Does $139k sound about right to you all, or do you think there is some room here. Any obvious options missing that I'll regret?
Wow, you really use your Rover! I get excited when I find a gravel drive way. Yours looks almost exactly like mine but mine isn't an ATB. Your baby will love it. My kids can't get the door closing right because they jump between my Rover with the auto-close doors and my wife's G550 where you have to give a good push/pull.
I'm not a pro on options but I don't see anything about adaptive suspension either. At $139k, it seems to be getting closer to a new G550 but it's not the same engine and a quick look shows they are going for closer to $160k+ new.

Thanks! I just built similar on the site and it came out to 168k, so I guess 139 is probably where it should be. The actual window sticker has more info about the "Code A20 Adaptive Suspension Pack" - it was a $1400 added option, which I think I will actually get good use out of.
For better or worse, I'm moving forward with this G! I expect it to be highly compromised, but quite fun nonetheless. I mentioned this in a DM but will put it here. I loved by L405 RR, but being an Autobiography it was almost too luxe for my use. I looked at the current L460, but it seems they went a step luxe-r. I think a non-ATB L405 would be the perfect RR for me. I think (hope?) the G with deluxe interior pack will scratch that itch, while still leaning more practical/durable.
I have had a '13 Land Rover Range Rover V8 for almost 5 years, and put about 57K miles on it, it has been just a great all around daily driver. '13 was a great time right before the tech on these cars went absolutely crazy. I'm 100% a car nerd, but when it comes to my Range Rover, I really don't need to know a whole much about it, just a solid daily driver. Sure a couple things have been fixed under my extended warranty, wheel bearing, door latches, water pump, ball joint, and my mirror cap popped off the one time I took it to a car wash lol. For the price of a used, no accident, under 45K miles, example, you really can't go wrong in my opinion, one of the "7 wonders of the car world", I think everyone should give ownership a shot! Hell I have a million photos of cars on my phone, but this was the best I could come up with in a 5 minute search.
A second year of CPO warranty was offered at $7400. I’m not sure that worth it. Current expires 1/18/2026.
For $7400, it’s expire 1/18/2027
Thoughts?
I think you can add it later, but before the first year of CPO coverage runs out. $7400 for one year sounds high to me. I think you can buy up to two more years coverage so long as you purchase before your first year of CPO coverage expires. Maybe tell the dealer you are thinking twice about just ordering a new one to try to get the 2nd year of coverage reduced or included.
As a reference, for a quality Fidelity Platinum 7yr , 72k warranty on my 2019 Range Rover, I was quoted just under $12k. I ended up passing on it and sticking with the one I bought from the dealer which actually covered my first claim.
Here's info on the MB CPO extension coverage from mbusa.com
Coverage You Can Trust for Up to Five Years
Every Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz is backed by the remaining 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Once that expires, the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty goes into effect, providing an additional 12-months of coverage with unlimited miles. From there, owners can purchase a Certified Pre-Owned Extended Limited Warranty for one or two years with unlimited miles, so you can drive with total confidence.Disclaimer[5] https://www.mbusa.com/en/cpo
Thanks - skipping for now. I confirmed I can purchase later, as long as it's before CPO ends. I can also purchase from any dealer, so will ask my local one as well.

Once a Rover's price drops enough, I agree you can get a really nice one for not too much. You can get a 2019 Rover with 45k miles for about $45k. A 2019 G550 with 45k miles will be at least double that.
I pulled the trigger on that G. I think it'll fit my needs perfectly. I agree with you all on the above, the L405 is awesome. But I had one, and am ready to try something else.
What can I say... I am a sucker for the blacked out exterior with super-beige interior.
Had an accident. Rear Passenger door and bumper was damaged, All airbags deployed. It's in the shop and the tech can't figure out how to get it started to diagnose for additional problems. He's telling me the rear power is starting but the front power will not start and he can't figure out how to determine what is preventing the front from powering up so it will start. If anyone have any idea/knowledge/suggestions how to search for what is preventing the front from powering up and starting I would greatly appreciate it. They have the diagram but it's not helping and of course they can't contact MB manufacturing to help with this problem. Thanks in Advance.
