Weird noise coming from steering wheel/column aera at 1500 rpms
The sound only happens when the engine is around 1500 RPM (It almost certain and only happens at 1500 rpms, the noise is gone once it passes 1500 rpms), regardless of vehicle speed. It does not seem to occur at other RPMs as I tried to keep it around 1500 rpms and the sound was evident and remained consistent until it passes 1500 rpms. I also tried to rev it to 1500 rpms when the car is in park, it does not seem to happen.
I suspect it might be due to something was not properly reinstalled or tightened during service. It feels like something is vibrating or resonating at that specific engine speed. Has anyone experienced something similar? I would appreciate any insights—especially if this could be related to something that happened during the oil change or service process. Thanks in advance for your help.
I took it to the dealership for inspection yesterday and they told me two technicians drove it multiple times and they did not hear anything.
I also captured a few videos when the noise was happening. For video 1, it starts at 2th second. For video 3, the noise is heard at 1st second. Please kindly let me know if you need more information or longer video regarding this noise. Thank you again for your help!

I recently had an issue with a noise coming from the driver's side window on my G63 went over uneven roads. It was annoying as heck as it was right next to my ear, but it only happened in S+ mode on certain roads. Knowing how service dep't works, I told my advisor the moment I got there that I don't want to hear the words of they cannot "replicate the issue". I made the advisor go with me while I drove so that he could acknowledge there is a noise/issue. They were then able to identify and fix the noise/issue so now my G63 perfect (again). I even started a thread about it.
I would suggest you do the same. Take your G back in and make the service adviser drive with you until he concedes that he does hear a noise. Otherwise, it will be a game of attrition for months before you just give up while the service dept gets paid thousands by MB for doing nothing.

) and I hear everything, for better or worse. Now my Alfa has nothing but engine and exhaust acoustics when I drive it. I know I may be overly sensitive to sounds, but unwarranted acoustics in my cars can drive me to the point that they kept me awake at night in trying to identify the source. The advisor told me that it will take longer if it is noise/ sound related, I will need to leave the car there from Friday to Tueday. However, the technician and the shopforeman test drove it 3 times and they were unable to replicate the noise. My advisor called me the same day to pick up my car and come back again. I do not understand why I had to pick up my car and revisit. They just did not want to do it.....

With these guys, don't be hesitant. The noises will drive you insane down the road. Just be more assertive when you bring it back. Don't leave your vehicle there unless/until your service advisor goes on a ride with you and acknowledges the noise so they can stop with the "we cannot replicate the sound" BS. The onus would then be on them to solve the problem(s). Stand firm and good luck! Let us know how everything turns out.
