Yes it is annoying - it appears there is no way to change it. Unless I missed something. I reached out to the Benz Ninja, and they also said no dice.

maybe someone here figured out a work around?

2025 G here. Mine lasts around 20 minutes. Much longer than 5 minutes you mentioned.

I’ve a 2023 G550, I’ve clocked it at approx 10min. Would love to get 30min - esp for those long drives.

Super annoying, you do need to re-activate it after 10 minutes, wish there is a shortcut you can set which you can just press it instead of going in all the menus again.

Well you can add it to favorites- which I’ve done. Then you pull down on the paddle, then select it in the display.

The Android or whatever OS Mercedes uses is really slow, which adds to the annoyance.

There must be something about why manufacturers won't leave them on for extended periods.

Porsche does it for 10 minutes (has a simple button on the side of the seat to turn back on)
My wife's GMC is 15 minutes (has a similar button on the side of the seat to turn it back on)
Mercedes states in the manual that the time varies by program. The program I run lasts 8 minutes. The fact they didn't include a button is really asinine in my mind. That being said I have gotten used to just clicking the home button then down to favorites and selecting driver massage that way. Not that big of a deal but a button would have just been easier.

Either overheating or does it actually damage our muscle (latter unlikely?)

Did you try pushing the button with image of person speaking and saying "driver seat massage on"? Works for me.

I would have thought that myself, but we've kept "turning it back on" constantly for a few road-trips (2 hours) and the seats still massage.

Its not overheating but muscles relax due to heat so that if on for an extending time, your leg/body muscles would relax thereby decreasing your reflexes as if you were going to bed and potentially cause an accident if you fall asleep or not react quick enoigh.

Scary stuff but I think most of us kept turning it back on and never felt that way.
