Before/After pic of 2025 G550 Bullbar removal

Removed my bulbar yesterday, I prefer the look. Super easy to do. Just pop open the two small plastic covers in the front bumper to reveal two 16mm bolts on each side. You can remove the bolts completely without the fear of the bullbat dropping down further or falling forward. Mercedes was ingenious in putting a little metal ledge below where the bolts are to prevent any mishaps and aide in reinstalling.

I put the bolts back in their respective holes tightly. Then I popped in the metal covers to close up the rubber grommet opening in the top of the bumper. I got them at Gwagen accessories online.

Whole process took maybe 15 minutes.

Looks great. I like the look on the 63 with the lower bar but not the high bar around the lights on the 550.

Thanks guys!!! I really think it's a cleaner better look and shows the front end design better without the bulbar in the way. By the way, that bullbar weighed a ton!!

I didn’t think it would make such a difference, well done! Totally changed the aesthetic of the truck! For the better in my opinion.

I actually love it and I am a bullbar kind of guy. I LOVE my black bullbar with the Night Package Plus, it just works well on the vehicle with my build configuration. But, to be honest, I much prefer your truck without that chrome bar - looks way better. Nice job!

I totally agree Angus, If I had a dark grey or black G with the black bullbar I would have left it. I'm not a fan of chrome.

I am with you, I am not a chrome kind of guy. It looks great on a lot of G Wagons, but just not my preference for my own vehicle. I really like the look of your bullbar removed - really nice choice.

I recall hearing once that the front suspension settings from the factory are slightly different for the markets that have the bull bar from the factory compared to the Euro spec without them, because of the weight. I can't recall my source on that or if it's even true. Anybody heard that?

I haven't heard of that yet. Mine drives identical without it. I'll ask my dealer, but mine drives like a gem.

Looks great! Only issue now is random people asking you how the electric range is

Thanks hodog!

If anyone asks me, I'll just say my range is about 450 miles

I actually like the look without it more too. Luckily, the G580 came without it

Car looks way better without the bull bar. I agree that the 63 having the lower bull bar is much better especially with the night package. Even the older generation G with the higher bull bar looked better without it
