Stronger than the 1980s running board options
So I am 5’10” and not as nimble as I used to be. Getting into the stronger than the 1980s edition is doable but not graceful. Does anyone know if Mercedes is offering running board/side step options for this particular model?

All kidding aside, part of the charm (and selling point) of the 1980 is the lack of running boards as part of the retro theming, you can always retrofit OEM or aftermarket ones if it's a necessity, but you'd want to keep all the original bits so when it comes to resale as I imagine people would probably want that.

Yeah, I get the appeal. That’s why I bought it….
As far as I’m concerned, they hit it out of the park with the retro vibe. 1000% better than any other manufacturer who attempted a retro SUV. If I were 20 years younger, I probably wouldn’t care.

Bought some online. They work but don’t tuck up as tight to the trim as I’d like. Also, they were a nightmare to install. Gwagenparts.com. All that said, it makes getting in and out so much easier.

Are these what you got? And when you say
dont tuck up as tight, do you mean you see a visible gap along the factory trim and running board? Not sure my OCD could take that lol....
