Hello! I thought I would create a thread for those of us who ordered 2027 G Wagons so we can share milestones and timing for build dates, end of production, waiting on vessel, transport tracking, VPC information, transport to the dealer, and delivery. This will help pass the time and provide information to others ordering G Wagons. I know timing, circumstances, and other variables affect timing, but I thought it would be fun to keep each other informed.

Ordered a 2027 G63 AMG on March 28, 2026. Order accepted and PO created on March 31, 2026. Build date scheduled for May 11, 2026.

Looking forward to following this thread through to delivery! Thank you!

Thanks for posting. You know what I find really interesting, how these build dates are determined. I have seen some orders go in and build dates can be much earlier than some orders that went in a while ago. I wonder how they are determined and if it has anything to do with region or dealership? Looking forward to posting updates here on the progress of our G Wagons.

My dealer had 3 orders picked up, they were all scheduled within a 2 week window in may. Funny enough mine was submitted third, but scheduled first. Maybe because of the color or the options I picked. But I'll take it lol. I just hope we don't see a bunch of re-scheduling.

Thanks for sharing. that information. I did not hear about the 2027s not being released until late September / early October. That timing seems in line, maybe a little later, with your July 16th build date. I look forward to staying in touch on this thread and seeing how some of those earlier builds wind up.... A few of us on this thread all have May builds for a 2027 model.

Very exciting looking forward to seeing how builds, shipping and deliveries time out. I'm located in the Houston area so we are usually on the tail end of deliveres as they head south.

I will updated any information my dealer passes on

Thanks, congratulations to you as well. I haven’t heard that they’re holding them until fall. I have my 26 to drive, so it doesn’t matter.

Thanks! I inquired with my sales manager and he did not hear that they would be holding the 2027 models until Fall 2026. All he said was it should follow the same timeline as usual once it's built. That's when we will be on here posting milestones and seeing which 2027 gets delivered first. I am also not in a hurry either, as I have my 2025 G550.

Thanks for the update. I also checked with my dealer too and my build date is still May 11 and they say the same timing. Let's see if it stays this way and goes forward as planned.

Confirmed today that I received a ‘27 allocation, build submitted.

I was told it will likely be a fall delivery. I have purchased many vehicles through this dealership and they tend to under promise and over deliver, so I won’t be surprised if I receive it sooner.

I do not have any official dates yet. They received my build and are making sure there are no additional options available for 27 that weren’t showing on the current ‘26 my configurator that I submitted my build with.

My build is pretty boring, but I checked most of the boxes:
moonlight white
amg night package plus
Manufaktor interior package plus
Manufaktor platinum white/black two tone nappa leather
Carbon fiber package
Amg carbon fiber wheel
AMG performance package
Manufaktor two-tone Napa leather dash
and a few other smaller items…

One thing I don’t like is it seems I have to get 22” wheels with the performance package and I would much rather have 20” or even 18” for that matter…

Thank you so much for posting to this thread, it's great to have more people join so we can follow our 2027 builds. I like hearing about the different ways that dealers do their orders. For me, I used the current 2026 build feature on MBUSA to get ideas, but I sat down with the sales manager and he went into his system to build the 2027, as we do not have access to that. So, they must take your 2026 build and put it into their 2027 builder, and checking to see if there are additional 2027 options. They should be assigned a build date really soon, so let us know what that is so we can track.

Your build is amazing, I just love that classic look. Your interior choice is beautiful. Nice to see someone else into the AMG Night Package Plus like me. Oh, don't get me started about the 22" wheels, as I have been looking into that since I placed my order last month. For the G63 AMG, you only have the 20" option on the AMG Offroad Pro Package (I have a post about this). With the AMG Night Package Plus or Performance Package, you really only have the 22" wheel option, though looking at your build photo, are those the 21" wheels? Which 22" wheels did you pick? I did the RG24 - AMG Cross-Spoike Wheels, Matte Black.... You can either buy a set of the stock 20" wheels, or find some that have the width and off-set to fit the AMG calipers, but from what I have been researching, it's not the G550 ones. As for 18" wheels, that's just not an option with the AMG calipers. I do plan to keep my 22" wheels, though I thought about asking to switch out my 20" wheels with BFG KO3s upon delivery, but I won't be doing that since these 22" wheels are ~$4,600, they won't fit, and I want the wheels that came with it (even if I switch them out later). I have been researching all-terrain tires for 22" wheels and found some good options at the 285/45R22 size we know fit stock and do not rub or have issues. If you want more information, let me know. I will be continuing to research tires until delivery when I make a decision. Thank you!

Hi @Angus4x4 -- Great topic on wheels with the AMG Performance Package!

Not sure if Mercedes is changing any of this for 2027, but when we were ordering our 2025 with the Performance Package, the wheel option defaulted to the 22" Cross-Spoke Wheels in Techgold (RP5). After selecting the Performance Package, we could then change these to a different 22" wheel or a 21" wheel. We selected the black 21" Twin 5-Spoke Wheels (RJ6) along with the AMG Night Package (DC1).

You are correct that the only way to get 20" wheels with the AMG Active Ride Control Suspension is via the AMG Offroad Package Pro (DC9); I do not believe a person can order wheels RN9 (the standard 20" wheel) or RG7 (the black and silver 20" Offroad wheel) with the Performance Package, at least via the configurator.

One thing the configurator and order guide did not mention for 2025 and 2026 is that the 21" wheels come with all-season tires versus summer/performance tires, which I believe all of the 22" wheels have. Again, not sure if any of this is changing for 2027 -- and certainly realize all season and all terrain tires are different animals -- but wanted to mention it.

Congrats on your upcoming 2027!

I stand corrected, I thought it forced me into 22” wheels, I can handle 20”

I also added the obsidian roof and leather wrapped door handles and she’s locked in.

Thanks so much for your response, it was really helpful. You know, I did notice that the 2026 build configurator on the MBUSA website has a glitch, as least for me and a couple other people I had test the issue. Basically, when you build a G63 AMG, and select the AMG Night Package Plus, it automatically shows the 21" black wheels - and that never changes, even when you change to the 22" wheels, it still shows up as the 21" on the build photos... you can see what I mean when you take a look at 084runnerltd's G63 AMG build above, he said he has 22" wheels, but it is showing with the 21" wheel option I think....

I actually almost went with the 21" wheels on my build, as I knew they come with all-season, but all-terrain options for 21" wheels is non-existent, and for purposes of trading in down the line, I decided to go with the 22" wheel option because I like an all-terrain tire on it always, even if I decide to get another set of RG7 wheels as well.

Thanks so much!

The obsidian roof is a really nice touch with your build. I thought about it as well, but stuck with the body-colored roof. When you say you can handle 20" wheels, what do you mean? We can use 20" wheels as long as I believe they are 9.5" and have the appropriate off-set, like the RG7 20" wheels that come with the AMG Offroad Pro package, or the base model other wheels.

I just mean I prefer a taller sidewall AKA smoother ride and less chance of damaging the wheel over the “cool” looks of a big pizza saucer rim.

I live in the sticks of North Dakota… lots of gravel and minimally maintained roads.

Glad to hear that 20” will fit on the AMG, I have some decent 20” rims that I run in the winter in my G550.

Thanks for sharing the updates... Looks like you got the other 22" wheels, those are nice. I wonder when the MSRP will actually come. I find it interesting how the options prices are set, but the overall MSRP is not yet available.

Has your dealership said anything about the Dashcam? Mine said it was "on constraint", but then I think it went through. It shows up on my build sheet/PO.
